What is the difference between
Desolidification
And
Desolidification, Area Effect, Personal Immunity, Megascaled up to Global Coverage?
Lucius Alexander
The palindromedary estimates the difference to be at least 120 pts, but that's not what I'm talking about....

I don't think there is any difference except cost as you didn't buy the second Desol UAA.
[edit]I will try to help finish the question if I can.
First off, UAA follows the basic rules of UOO. UAA makes Self-Only powers into No Range attacks that require LOS, so we will need both 0 END and Persistent, according to the Power text, to effect things you cannot see (note this will not make the power persistent). I also do not think you can use Megascale to replace both the Range and the Mass requirements. I think Megascale would allow you to target everyone on the planet, but I think you would need many x2 Mass adders to effect the planet itself. (Need a GM ruling on this if anyone else wants to help).
So, If the second Desol was bought UAA, 0 END, Persistent, AE, Megascale, x(enough to cover the planet) Mass, Personal Immunity...
Then I think you would be pulled through the planet into space by the Sun's gravity and die as you didn't say you bought any Life Support.

If it were UAA, the difference is that the character would plunge through the Earth's surface to his doom.
Desolid characters stop on the ground through an act of will. The Earth has no will, so the character falls and dies.
Or not. Whatever.

No one will be able to attack you, since their powers aren't bought with Affects Solid World.

True. Some of those characters may have attacks that Affect Desolid, but you aren't desolid. How many characters who can't turn desolid themselves have attacks that Affect the Solid World?

One is more expensive than the other and costs more END to boot. Do I win a prize? :)

Reminds me of an episode of Futurama where it is explained that the spaceship's engines don't move the ship through the Universe. Instead, they move the Universe around the ship!

One of them protects you from orbital bombardment, and the other one protects everyone else.

That depends on whether the Earth bought its gravity with "affects solid world".

[wiping tears from eyes] Though it was obviously bought with "Affects Desolid"...

Actually, according to Relativity, the spaceship DOES make the universe move, if the ship is chosen as the center of reference. There's no difference.
And when I walk, my feet are pushing the planet backward. :D

So THAT'S why the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.
Earth is in Retrograde.

I hereby declare that the universal center of reference is myself.
This will be very good for my ego. :)
I pushed the Earth a whole 20 feet away while I was climbing the stairs this morning.

I don't think this would be true since the bombs would become desolid upon entering the AoE. Well, unless those bombs had "Affects Physical World" of course. ;)
