I'm going to bite the bullet, and run an online game, in the fantasy genre. The working title is "The Altar of Pythagoras." I'd prefer IRC for the sheer simplicity, but I can also do it via OpenRPG if people prefer that (although I won't be able to do any fancy stuff like maps.)

Let me know if you're interested - or if you're not interested in Fantasy, that's just one of many genres. I've also got ideas for a "Dark Champions:The Animated Series Beyond" campaign I'm interested in running.

While I'm unemployed, I might even have time to do both...

Feel free to reply in this thread.

Too bad my other commitments keep me from applying. If you want, I can help you learn OpenRPG a little better than where you are now. It really is a great program once you get used to it. Heroman's initiative tracker is one of the coolest things I've come across yet.

Good luck on running the campaign. :)

Goodluck! Is OpenRPG real time?

Yes, OpenRPG is a chat based environment that has a whole lot of cool features like minis and a battlemat, dice rolling and a "game tree" that has character sheets, prefabricated text etc. It has so many functions that I would sound like an ad man if I described them all. Check www.openrpg.com for starters and there are a few threads in the Other Software and Online Resources section about it as well.

If you decide to use OpenRPG be sure to check the recent threads here as between Heroman, Prestidigitator, my self, and others , we have added a lot of Hero specific functionality. The only thing really lacking at this point is a HD export template for ORPG. Feel free to contact me if you need any help or info.

Funksaw,
When (day / time) do you plan on running your game?

Probably Sunday, but I don't have a set time yet.

There may not be enough interested in a fantasy campaign;

On the other hand I'm willing to run any sort of campaign on Sundays; any genre, any mood.

In fact, why don't we call this thread a wash and I'll start a new one.
