Automatons and Life Support?

I recently had a discussion with a player on the need of an automaton to buy Life Support. So I would like an official ruling if you have the time.


Is lide support required for an automaton if he wants to be immune to standard ailments?

Absolutely it is. If an Automaton doesn't have Life Support, then he still requires oxygen, food, and sleep, can contract diseases, can be poisoned, ages normally, and so on.

Take a look at the published Automata, such as the ones in the HSB, SH, and TE. They've all got Life Support.
