Hi Steve,
A couple questions about buying Characteristics as part of a Compound Power in Power Frameworks:
I have a superhero character who can turn her body to stone. This gives her increased STR, CON, BOD, PD/ED as well as some Armor and a level or two of Density Increase. I’d like to link all these together into one Compound Power, as she can either activate all these powers at once, or none of them. So far so good. Now…
Question #1: Would it be legal to put this Compound Power in an EC slot, since the Compound Power as a whole costs END, and the individual powers that don’t cost END (CON, Armor) can’t be used without the powers that do (STR, Density Increase)? Or would I still need to buy "Costs Endurance" for each individual component power?
Question #2: (Assuming that the above is permitted.) When I move the Compound Power into an EC slot, Hero Designer automatically assigns the -1/2 “No Figured Characteristics” Limitation to the STR, BOD & CON, and won’t let me delete or buy off that Limitations. It does the same thing if I try and put it into a Multipower. I’m assuming this is a rules thing, not a program thing, but I can’t find it in 5ER that covers this?
Question #3: Does the Answer to #2 change if the Powers in question do/don't have Adv/Lims that do/don't apply to the base Characteristics?
Thanks!
