I understand the Hero Designer is meant to go completely by the rules as presented in FRED.

However, in many 5e books skills are being presented with limitations. I am wondering if version two will support this since it is part of official 5e books.

I am using version 1.44 and it allows skills to have Limitations and Advantages. The only exception seems to be Combat/Skill Levels. I have been bypassing the problem buy using Custom Skill and then applying Custom Modifiers to it. It is not pretty, but it is the only way to do some "official" concepts.

OOPPS!

Yep, I see it now. Sorry for the spurious question.

CSLs and SLs are only allowed to have Limitations if they are purchased at the 5-point level (or above) -- per FREd.

If you select a 5-point CSL, you will find that the Add Modifier button appears, allowing you to assign Advantages and Limitations to the ability.

Actually, I was just looking at the book, and it says that the 3-point level can have Limitations.

One thing though...
In FH, for the Wood Elf package, you can get +5 to Stealth, only in woodlands (-1). I was assuming that this would be at the 2-point level, and cost a total of five points. (That's one thing I didn't completely like in FH -- in the package modifiers, they only list the total cost for the list additions, not individual parts of that addition.)

FREd, page 36: The 5-point CSL is the smallest CSL which can be bought with Limitations.

FREd, page 46: The smallest PSL which can have a Limitation is a 3-point Level.

FREd, page 49: The smallest Skill Level on which a character can place a Limitation is a 3-point Level.

This is exactly how HD handles things (and has been for some time now).

Ack, right... my mind completely skipped over the C in CSL...
