400' in 4:25. That's 62" in 22 turns, or roughly 3" per turn. He pretty much looks like he's moving pretty fast, although with the edits it is unclear how many breaks he took.

1" per phase seems perfect for climbing. I used to question whether that was too slow or too fast but this seems a pretty good (good enough) metric.

Thought I would share.

Ah yes. Dan Osman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Osman). He was killed in 1998 in an accident trying some sort of a free-falling stunt in Yosemite.

One of the engineers at work is a climber, though not nearly of this calibur. He knows a lot about climbing and famous climbers. It is amazing how many of these extreme sports junkies manage to kill themselves.
