Can anyone tell me what the template used to describe a world in World of Empire is?

I'd like to attempt some profiles of some alien worlds from fiction and want to be consistent with published material.

He writes up planets? That's interesting, I may have to get that now, since I have to model Installation 04 (HALO 1). I was wondering if there was an in canon way of doing that.

Actually, it's a multi-author book, each of describe several planets/systems. I was curious as to how they did it. Do they use something like a character template?

It's not so much a template as an outline:

The opening paragraphs describe the system in general, with emphasis on planets and significant moons other than the main one being discussed. That's followed by a text box ("IMPERIAL DATAFILE: [PLANET NAME]") with the following information:

Planet Name:
Classification:
System Data: [number of moons, and placement within the planet structure]
Gravity:
Day And Year: [length of each]
Atmosphere: [percentages of major gases]
Hydrosphere: [percentage of surface]
Meterological Overview:
Sentient Species: [native; populated planets with no native sentients say "none"]
ATRI Rating:
Government:
Affiliation:
Resources:
Places Of Note:
Ship Facilities:

This is followed by <2> General Description, starting with things such as size, appearance from space, landmasses, and so forth. The subsection <3> Places Of Note lists cities, institutions, geographical features, natural wonders, and other places that might interest a visitor.

The <2> History section can be anything from a couple of quick paragraphs for colony worlds with short and/or uneventful backgrounds to two pages or more with several <4> sections if a planet has a long-lived native sentient people.

The section on <2> The People generally starts with a general overview, which may be only a couple of paragraphs, include separate discussions on <4> various social or ethnic groups, or show <3> a new Racial Package Deal (including <4> Biology and <4> Society And Culture subsections modeled after the form used in Terran Empire and Alien Wars). This is followed by discussions of <3> Government, <3> Famous People (replace "People" with what the people from the place are called; each individual is usually given a <4> header, but not always), and <3> Economy.

(Numbers in arrows are the Header types per the WG.)

Hope that helps out. :)

Rep to Mr. BobGreenwade, idea taken and will be used.Hey, it wasn't my idea. It's just the basic format used in Worlds Of Empire. Thank the DOJ Guys.

Is that available as a download, or must one write for it?

I'm fairly sure it's a free download.

I'm trying to write up a planet for the online game I'm playing, run by Nolgroth... and I was wondering if anyone could provide some clarification on some of these terms.

Specifically, I'm wondering what "classification" and "affiliation" refer to and what options are available. The others are pretty obvious.

The Affiliation is what interstellar league it's a part of (Terran Empire, Mon'dabi Federation, independent, etc.) and at what status (Senate world, colony world, etc.).

Thanks, Bob! That's exactly what I needed.

Although, one would think that "Classification" could have been rolled into "System Data" (or vice versa) and "Affiliation" could have been rolled into "Government" (or vice versa).

Susano: Thank you; I shall look for it.

BobGreenwade: The top of which page? There is nothing named "Submissions" at the top of the page I am, right now, looking at.

As well, "Classification" is upon page 92 of Star Hero, in the gray box at middle and lower left.
