Where would you prefer to have your campaign based out of these options? A few haven't come out yet, but hey, that shouldn't stop you from having an opinion.

This isn't really fair to Meriquai Falls. Most of us don't do the E-Books or Digital Hero.

Well, it seemed better than leaving it out entirely. Sides, the author has been so darn nice on the boards I figure he deserved a 'plug' for it :)

Well, I'd agree with you... but I'm doing too much of that lately so :p

You should have an "other" or "Other-Homebrew" and "Other-Published" San Angelo and other previously published Hero cities/ locations would be nice to add.

Well, Moonhunter, again, I chose to limit this poll to those four. In part because I was curious which 5th Edition city of DoJ's products had the most draw etc. Not knocking San Angelo (Far from it, I've heard nothing but good about it), or any other company's city, but for the poll itself... these are the choices :)
Though, definitely Agent X's suggestion of another Poll for others would be a good idea.
(D'oh, there I go agreeing again...rats.)

Meriquai Falls sounds like the most original, but for some reason Chicago keeps coming up in my group. We've had to have had at least four campaigns in that city and we're in South Carolina! I'm not much for fictional cities myself, unless it's set in the future, but San Angelo is great. I was a little disappointed it wasn't set in the real San Angelo (I was stationed there) but it's a great product.

Oddly enough, I recently started running a 150-pt supers game, set in a homebrew world (essentially real-world with recent edition of powers). We picked a city to begin play in...and its Chicago. What is it about Chicago?

It doesn't tell us anything really other than some people prefer their own set-up. I think Hermit is trying to figure out which of these four are the most popular. A bigger poll with San Angelo, Freedom City, Empire City, and any other "Superhero Cities" that I can't think of, alongside these would be interesting - but other just isn't cool.

Hmm, our gaming group had a team in Chicago as well. Though it was the third franchise and it just seemed to make sense at the time.
For the four listed, I chose Vibora Bay for it's mystic content. I'm fine with no other on the choices. That's what reply is for. ;)

Any real world city, wiith the exception of NYC. It is overused in comic books.

I am currently playing in a MC campaign. In all it has been a great setting. Of course it is the only one yet published so I may change my mind once I've seen the others.

Chicago is the setting for my game. I live close to the city and it has many interesting settings (how about a battle at the Field Muesum or on the Mag. Mile?). Plus the city has a HUGE underground tunnel system that can hide many supers!

I used Chicago myself more than once. :) Maybe Chicago would make a good 'collective city' ... by that I mean, a thread could start up a thread where we transform Chicago for 5th Ed Champions... it gets a brief mention in CU, but still... might be fun.

Let me know if you start one!
I have several ideas for GM's about how to "use" Chicago as a setting.

Forget the city, use Chicago the musical as a setting.

I agree with Patriot that Chi-Town rules, but how did San Angelo not even make the Poll?!?

1. It was a fourth edition product
(are they going to make it for 5th? I heard they might, but was not sure)
2. It's not (to my knowledge) made by DoJ/HERO Games.
Millennium City is out. Vibora Bay is coming out. MF is coming out in Ebook form. Hudson City (5E), while admitedly more for Dark Champions, is coming out eventually. They share the two criteria above I was personally using. As someone else said, discussion of the many other fine options are what 'Reply' is for :)

I chose Vibora Bay for three reasons. One, I like the mystic and creepy, and hey, that's Vibora Bay. Second, let's be honest, VB is a "superheroed" N'Awlins, and anything that has N'Awlins in it can't be bad (just imagine Mardi Gras in the Champions-verse  ). Last, while the shiny and sleek are neat, I really think the shadowy alleys and dark taverns will be way too cool for words. I don't normally pre-order anything, even from HERO - I wait to see what you guys think before I make my own decision - but Vibora Bay will be one of the books I will preorder. 'Course, that list also includes Ultimate Mystic, Fantasy Hero, etc, etc. Do you see a trend?

Vibora Bay sounds cool, too, and I like the idea of a mystically-oriented city. Of course I felt like it was more one of those Florida Gulf Coast towns with alot of bayous and didn't think N'Awleans at all, though I can see it now. I did a fair amount of growing up in Northwest Florida and Louisiana has some competition for creepy coastal towns in the South.
Someone mentioned starting a thread with ideas for doing Chicago in 5th Ed. I would really be interested in that. We're using the younger members of the old Freedom Squad as members of the Peacekeepers, since only one is mentioned in CU.

Weird, my only problem with Vibora Bay is that it's in Florida. :)
I must be corrupted by hanging around Volunteer fans

I can see how that could happen. :) You could split the difference and put it in that little strip of Alabama that's on the water.

Not as much anymore... as the main hero, Vengeance... did a lot to clean it up... but it was the primary sight for most of the guns 'n fightin' 'n crime stories that happened in my game. I love the "street level in a superhero world" kind of game.
