Has any one done a convertion from L5R to HERO? I searched the forums but didn't found any mention of it.

Just look for Lord Liaden & The Question Man's signatures. They keep a current list of RPGs converted to Hero.

And I know Storn has done an illustration of a L5R character, so chances are he's given a conversion some thought.

You could look at the situation negatively--- "There is nothing here for L5R." Instead, consider thinking "Holy Cow! Nobody has done any kind of conversion for L5R. I have the opprotunity to mold this conversion into a thing of beauty without having to look and see how X did it."

I mean really, how often do you get a virginal conversion?

Using Ninja Hero, Ultimate Martial Artist and the Asian Bestiaries, you should be able to flesh out a conversion pretty quickly.

I'd suggest that the different Rokugan clans would be variations on the Samurai package deal from Ninja Hero, maybe with some skill substitutions or changes on characterstics included. A Crane package, for example, could have a higher COM included and focus on more courtly skills.

The one thing that would probably consume the majority of conversion time would be Shugenja magic, how it works and conversions of individual spells.
