I'm using Danger portal (xd6 energy blast, variable sfx, variable +1/2 advantages) from the USPD, and need help coming up with descriptiosn for some of the varying power effects. If it's not obvious from the name, this power creates a portal between various places (i.e. surface of the sun) and your opponent.

Some advantages I'm having trouble coming up with sfx for:
explosion (and various AoEs)
armor piercing / penetrating
Autofire
Sticky

I'd like to limit the char to near-earth phenomena, if possible.

Autofire is easy: Instead of one large portal, it opens a series of portals in quick succession.

AP/Penetrating: The land of Spiky Bits! a spike comes through the portal. Ok. that's a stretch but still... interesting.

An Explosion, or some of the other area effects can be easily done with a portal to a magma chamber. Depending of the location of the "donor gate" you'd get anything from a stream of lava to something like a pyroclastic surge. I played a wizard who used this as his "WMD" spell... the right combonation of gate locations and durations could justifiable produce a Megascale effect if desired.

AP / Penetrating.....
Hmmmm.....
Maybe a itsy bity teeny weeine gate to a dangerous high pressure environment like aforementioned magma chamber for an Energy attack, or someplace like the sediment belt at the seafloor, REAL deep... Bottom of a nice trench somewhere.
A nice high power sediment filled jet of water could be very ouchie.

Also, might it open up say... right in front of a machine gun blast? Or an M1 Abram tank, etc?
