Well, it was bound to happpen. I play with group on sundays and we have three or four games going on at any one time. We generally play D&D because of the five or six main guys only I have any real HERO experience and I don't GM much. The other HERO guy moved :(
But anyway, two of my longest running characters Bit the dust in successive sessions.
Auric Jotunbane, the Gensai warrior and Evorahn Dinwhistle, the ranger.
Auric's fate was sealed probably from the onset as he never had armor befitting a front line fighter and lacked the agility to be a finess warrior. He took shots and hopped his large number of HP would allow him to hit back; cause trading blows with Auric was a risky. He dealt a LOT of damage. (Power attack, two handed weapon, STR 21)
Evorahn was a finess fighter, still tended towards the front lines but was agile, weilded two weapons, and though he never encountered his favored enemies...*sigh* he was a very effective team mate. He was the last to die in a Total Party Kill because let's face it our group was a bout as tactically sound as an elementary school street gang.
Oh well.
So two new eras begin.
Ulderron Tiberious Stormrage; Auric's replacement is...basically a different build for the same character, Blunt weapon melee specialist. this guy sacrifices his massive two handed damage potential for much greater protection.
He's also got three levels of Aristocrat ;) and is such a Thor clone, I've decided to have him talk like Marvel's Thor. I will utter the phrase "I Say Thee NAY!" at least once before they kill mev :D
Ivellios Tieron Aelreth Galanodel; since the entire party died we're starting in another city in the campaign world. We all independantly decided to play elves, which I think is funny but we now fear "Anti-Elf" weaponry is in our future. :D
Ivellios is a little crazy but in a good way, he thinks himself an Knight; he belongs to a noble family and studied magic as a way to relieve boredom.
Ivellios is his childhood name, Tieron is a name he made up for his "adult name" but no one but he uses it. Aelreth is a title he gave himself it means Mage Knight, and Galanodel is his family name. He has a cat familiar named Waggotts (named after my last cat who we had for 21 years) Waggotts is another name he invented and claims it means Enlightened Seeker in an obscure elvish tongue. No one has ever heard of it.
Ivellios has decided that the best way to make a name for himself is to be thematic. He has decided to become a Winter Mage (specailizing in cold spells) but not actually being a specialist wizard.
