Ironically, I suspect that support for the Multilateral Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multilateral_Force) idea was undermined less by the idea that Germany would have access to our nukes, than by the idea that France would. ;)

While we are having this "quote fest" of Lehrer I just thought that i'd mention that I received from a friend of mine the other night as a christmas present "The Remains Of Tom Lehrer" on CD. It seems to contain just about everything he ever recorded; from the classics like "We Will All Go Together When We Go", and "The Vatican Rag" to the stuff he did for "The Electric Company" such as "L-Y" and "Silent E" ! Including the song that almost got him arrested in Australia ,"Be Prepared" !
