I don't remember if I emailed anyone about this before, so I'll make a post for the record :)
If you click on the Show Printable Version link at the bottom of any thread, you get white text on a white background. Can that be fixed?
Thanks!

I've checked the following browsers:
Safari beta (mac)
Safari 1.0 (mac)
Explorer 5.x (mac9 & X)
Netscape 6 & 7 (mac X)
Explorer 5.x (win2k)
and get either white on white (all mac browsers) or white background, blue text (but only if I click on the text as if to hilite), otherwise its white on white in win too. What browser are you using? Maybe I can check that version here. I'm guessing its a CSS problem, but I've never torn the html these forums create down to see exactly what it might be.

Opera 7.1 on Windows 2000 gets white on white; changing the "Identify As" setting doesn't change it.

That's exactly what happens to me. I'm using Explorer as well. Have you tried actually printing the page and seeing how it looks?

It may be a problem with the default style. I hate the default style and use the white style instead. Yep, I just checked and all you need to do is change your style to white and it works just fine. Obviously a problem with the style only not the board.

By the way, to whom it may concern (probably Ben). Any character posted in the 'white' style comes out as white text on the white/light grey background. I've looked at how these are posted and I think the problem is that any text in a table shows up as white, if this could be fixed so that all texts show up as black on white for the 'white' style, I for one would really appreaciate it.

Try this export template:

Mostly a blank page, except the few chunks of blue text that show data info. I'll try chaning my style setting, but it would be nice to get the CSS (or whatever it is) fixed.
And thanks for confirmations that I'm not crazy :)

I appreciate the thought Shrike, but I don't think this will do any good. My problem is not with HD but with the Hero Boards. When someone posts a character using Derek's character template, the color is defined by UBB (the message board software). If you are using the default style for the board, all text including text in tables is white on black. This gives me a headache, so I use the alternative style which is black on white. Except anything within a 'table' tag shows up as white on white. For those of us who use this alternative board style any character posted by someone else is unreadible. Your export template would be a great solution. But I can hardly force everyone to use it, can I?
No. The better option is for Ben to just change the definitions of the 'white' alternative board style to use black text instead of white within tables. Thanks for the work on an alternative export template though. I'm going to hold onto that in any case.

Okay, I've created a temporay fix. The problem is that both Styles use the same printthread.php template, but one uses white text and the other black.
So the printthread.php now has a neutral gray background to provide maximum contrast for the white and black text.
I'm trying to find a better fix, but it may be a while.
