Hey all!

I'm deep into the coding of v2 right now....and making excellent progress. Lots of new functionality has been worked in already (not to mention performance enhancements).

My most recent task has been tackling the Modifier Intelligence. I've created a fair number of new attributes on abilities (defined in the templates) which should allow me to code in full "intelligence" to the Modifier functionality (what Mods are available for a given Power construct).

What I need is for someone to start pounding the bejeezus out of the test version of v2 that I have. Make lots of different abilities. Check the available lists on the Modifiers and make sure that there aren't any there that shouldn't be....and that all Modifiers that should be there are.

What will you get for all this work? Not much ;) About all I can offer is to keep you on the v2 testing team...meaning that you'll be able to continue to use v2 up until the final release (in December, hopefully).

Since the test versions all require a "security check" against the server during startup, please only apply if you are able to run the app from a location that can connect to www.herodesigner.com (on port 80).

I will likely take up to 3 people for this.

The "confidentiality" is pretty simple: you're welcome to talk about the app and what you see in it. You're welcome to post about it. But I ask that you keep the app itself "private". Do not share it with anyone.

I also ask that if you post publicly about v2, or discuss it with folks, that you do so with the understanding that this is an extremely early release. I wouldn't even call it an alpha at this point. It's got a TON of new features in it over v1, but it is in no way, shape, or form a finished product yet.

Each test version will automatically disable itself when the next test version goes up.

Anyone interested can either reply to this thread, or email me at support@herodesigner.com

Thanks in advance!

Ill do it! One for all and All for one!

The modifier intelligence improvements is something I requested in the "what would you like in v2 thread?" so its only fair that I offer to help out on the subject :D

Also, Im a professional developer, so Im well familiar with desk checking and error tracking, so I should be able to communicate any bugs I run across.

Let me know!

Welcome aboard!

With the others that have already signed up, I'm pretty much full-up, though I may take on one or two more, just out of a twisted desire for more work ;-)

OK...we are now full-up on testers. Thanks to all who volunteered!

If you missed getting in on this round, keep watching the boards....I'll post here for more testers as the need arises.

When I try to connect to www.herodesigner.com I get redirected to www.herogames.com

Am I doing something wrong?

Yup. Use the link that I included in your email....in particular, pay close attention to the end of it....the part with the "/v2" on it ;-)

I'd be happy to do it. My mail server at work is down at the moment or I would have sent a email

Unfortunately, I've already taken on more testers than I had intended.

I'll post again the next time I have an opening in the testing crew.

Thanks!

For those that missed it, don't worry....I'll be gradually opening up the testing as more and more features are worked in.

Like in v1, I would like to have v2 tested as thoroughly as possible before we go to the final cut.
