Say I want to be able to give my allies a bonus to OCV... sounds like CSLs with UBO: Simultaneous (so I can affect multiple allies)... but what's the range on "giving" the ability to others? Since it's multiple people simultaneously, can I give it to anyone in an area, or do I have to purchase area of effect?

IIRC, UBO has no range by default, requiring you to grant the power at touch range. If you applied the Ranged advantage, I'd say you could apply the power to anyone you wanted (within your maximum numbers) who you can perceive within that range.

Hmm... I guess I need to apply the ranged advantage to the cost of the UBO advantage (otherwise ranged drain UBO could mean two different things).

If I ran the zoo, it would just be an adder on UBO to make it ranged for an extra +1/4 or something. Maybe I'll just do that instead.

Apply Range as described. The Range would be the Active Cost of the Power x 5, as with any other Ranged Power.

The Ranged Advantage for UBO is separate from, for example, adding the Ranged Advantage to a Drain. (See 5er, p. 273).

So you could buy two 5-point CSLs (10), Usable Simultaneously by four characters (+3/4); (17) and give the power to yourself and three other people, but you'd have to touch them to give them the Power (although they only have to stay in LOS afterward).

For another +1/2 to add Ranged to the UBO, you're at 22 points and can grant the Power at a Range of 5" x 17 = 85".

If this is giving you a headache, you might consider trying a simple Aid to DEX with the limitation 'OCV only'. :)

Aid to dex would be more costly and only produce 1 OCV for every 3 rolled and thus would not give a set level automatically unless you bought an extreme amount of Aid plus you would have to make it AOE selective to target the right people. does not produce the same SFX of D&D bless adding +1 OCV to friends in area

Not necessarily more costly, since you have to start with 5 point levels, then add Useable By (X) other, Area Effect Selective.

The set level is easy to accomplish with Standard Effect.

And, lastly, it's actually closer to D&D Bless because the bonus will continue for a set length of time (until the Aid fades) and will remain after the recipient of the Aid leaves the initial area of effect, whereas the OCV Useable By Others will be lost if the recipient moves too far away. ;)

Actually, Aid IS more costly but it has the advantage of being able to be applied more than once during the same encounter.

30 Bless: Aid DEX 3d6 (standard effect: 9 points), Area Of Effect (3" Radius; +1), Selective (+1/4) (67 Active Points); Limited Power Only to increase OCV (-1), Limited Power maximum of 8 targets can be affected (-1/4)

12 Bless: +1 with All Combat, Usable Simultaneously (up to 8 people at once; +1), Area Of Effect (2" Radius; +1) (24 Active Points); Limited Power Only to increase OCV (-1)
