View Full Version : How do you prorate Strength?

Hello, I just got Herodesigner. I've been fiddling with the thing and tried to create a character. When adding the HTH attack or the Hand Killing Attack, the program would not add my strength to the attack. Is there anyway to get your strength prorated into those attacks?

It makes it much easier to know exactly how many dice you roll when you're adding advantages to those attack powers which add Strength. I'd rather not have to write on my character sheet that my 2d6 double penetrating attack with a 40 STR is 3d6+1. Also, I may be able to figure it out but my newsbie players.

Thanks for your help.

Because of the different possibilities for STR (Growth, DI, STR as a Power, STR as a Power adding into Secondary totals, STR as a Power not adding into totals, etc), v1 does not do any automatic totalling of the damage for HTH attacks (or for Martial Maneuvers, but that's a different story).

For what you're talking about, it gets even more complex, as it's possible for someone to purchase STR as a Power without mods, with the same mods as the HTH Attack, with similar mods, etc. Each of those cases act differently when it comes to prorating the STR damage. When you couple that with the different totalling options, you end up with a huge mess if HD tries to display all the possible values.

I am currently working on the code for v2 of the app. This is one of the areas that I plan on addressing as work continues. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing with it, but I'd like to get something in place along the lines of what you're talking about.
