My spell-caster has a multipower in which every power (her different spells) has the Extra Time: Full Phase (-1/2) limitation. This includes her Force Field. Normally, characters can automatically abort to a defensive action without having to make any kind of opposed Dex roll or anything in order to activate the defense before an incoming attack hits, but does this hold true in my case, since I'm attempting a Full Phase action instead of a Zero-Phase? If not, please don't tell my GM. ;)

In most cases, Extra Time has no effect on Aborting, but of course the GM has to apply common and dramatic sense. A character should certainly be allowed to Abort to an Action that takes a Full Phase. At some point (say, Extra Time: 1 Hour) it becomes obvious that allowing Aborting probably makes no sense. There's a grey area in there where the GM needs to decide for himself whether to allow Aborting. And of course, a character who's designing a defensive power should consider this issue before deciding whether to apply Extra Time.

I'll give this a little more thought after I get home from Origins. Thanx!
