View Full Version : Negative Secondary Characteristics as Powers

Hiyas,
I am building up my SH species using Hero Designer. I have started to make the racial packages as 'powers' in a list so I can group them up and save them as a prefab. HD, though does not seem to allow for negative secondary characteristics. I can put in a negative DEX, etc all fine and well, but all the secondaries do not allow you to go below '0'.
In example, I have a race which is sensitive to energy, so I want to have him -2 ED.
Is there a better way to build racial packages (other than creating a brand new character sheet for each separate race)?

In this case, may I suggest seting ED at 1, and taking a 1d6 sensitivity to energy attacks as a disad? On the average, the character would take +2 STUN from attacks vs ED.

You cannot buy negative levels of Figured Characteristics as powers in v1. I _may_ readdress that in v2.
By far, the easiest way for you to do what you're looking for is to create a character sheet for each race. The character sheet would be the "starting point" for any character of that race and could define the starting levels, etc in each of the characteristics, as well as any starting skills and abilities.
Alternately, you can create a custom template for each race which defines the starting "base" points for each characteristic.

Ah, K. I did not want to go the way of a sheet per race since it is cumbersome and works against me being able to use HD as a source for my user books. I cannot generate a nice summary like the ones in the books by using 1 sheet per species, really. I had hoped to work with a simple export template to display my racial material in a concise form instead of having to maintaining both a word and a HD document for everything.
