On page 64 of 5ER it says Generally Limitations are not allowed on Martial Manuvers, but the GM may okay it. On page 220 of the same book the example it gives is an amulet (OIF) granting martial arts. As it stand right now, the only way I've found it possible is to use Custom Manuver, figure out the math and copy into a custom manuver with the new cost.

Would it be possible to include the ability to do this and just add the warning that you shouldn't? The same way you can add powers to Element Controls that are technically illegal. The program doesn't prohibit you from doing it like it does for Martial Arts.

Limitations may only be applied to Martial Arts styles (10 or more points of Maneuvers). Build a style (in a list) -- once you have 10 or more points in the list, you will be able to assign Limitations to it (assuming your GM approves).

I tried that, the limitation show up, but no points are subtracted.

I tried to test it on one of my characters and it won't even open up the Custom Modifier Dialog. It just highlights it when I click on it and doesn't do anything afterward.

Only Advantages can be added to individual maneuvers. If you want to add a limitation it has to be done to the list itself as a common modifier. At least that's the way it works when I experiment with it.

Correct.

It should also be noted that you cannot reduce the cost of a Manuever below its starting point, no matter how many Limitations you apply. The only way that Limitations will have an effect on the cost is when Advantages are applied as well.

Oh, okay. That seems a bit pointless, but I guess HD is working as intended :D

Not really . . I still can't get it to allow me to add modifiers to a list of MA maneuvers.

Granted, like Simon says (hehehe) they would be limitations to they wouldn't drop below the minimum cost but it would be nice to have it there since it's part of the concept.

You must have at least 10 points of Maneuvers in the list before you will be able to apply Limitations (per the rules).

Found the problem. I had a Weapon Element included in the list.

Sorry about that.
