Thanks for the quick answers Steve, sorry to come back with a couple more... :)

First off the player who wants to play the "machine controller" has come up with idea of using a "summon vehicle" summon power.

The question this provoked is. If you use the summon power to get a vehicle. Is the cost of the vehicle divided by 5 like it would be if you use the perk or do you have to pay the full cost before the /5 happens.
i.e. an SUV costs the full 60pts rather than the 12 it would cost under the perk?

And now back to the ol naked advantage questions. :help:

With the example you give

It's based on the character's STR. For example, applying AP (+1/2) to a character with STR 60 costs 30 points (60 x (1+0.5) = 90; 90-60 = 30).If the character wants to use a Roundhouse (5pts) martial arts with this naked advantage. Is it free or does he need a naked advantage costing 33pts? (covering the extra 5pts)

The 2nd question is if the character then also buys a staff (say +3D6 (15) oaf, ind etc...) & wanted to apply the naked advantage to the whole deal, would it cost

Str (60) + weapon element (1) + staff (15) = 38pts for the Naked Advantage.

OR

Str (60) + Martial Arts (5) weapon element (1) + staff (15) = 41pts

Thanks
Richard

1. Re: the cost of Vehicles and such, see 5ER 223.

2. If a character anticipates adding damage to an attack from a weapon or what have you, he should buy the Naked Advantage as large enough to cover the maximum possible damage he anticipates doing -- otherwise he can't use the Naked Advantage. If a Naked Advantage is bought for up to 60 STR, it can't be used with 61 or greater STR. If it's bought for a Martial Manevuer attack that's defined as no more than 12d6 (12 DCs), then it won't function at all with a 13+ DCs attack.
