I'm experimenting with using sound effects in my game for the next few weeks. Anyone know where I could find some nice effects for download? Things like Dragons or something akin to that? Any help would be appreciated :)

Not for download, but Toxic Bag Productions (http://toxicbag.com/gmc.htm) makes some nice CDs full of sound effects.

SoundAmerica (http://www.soundamerica.com/) has a lot of useful stuff.

We played a game of Spacemaster a few years back where we ended up in a desolate, busted up, and infested lab. He(The GM) made his own f/x and it worked out really well. The whole time I felt like I was playing Half-Life, the only thing it was missing was a creepy guy with a suitcase.

If you're a gamer with a lot of games handy you can find free programs on the net that will let you go into your games and extract the sound files and convert them into a handy format of your choice.
I ripped sounds out of Aliens Vs. Predator and Doom 3 to get all sorts of "industrial sci-fi" and horror sound effects for the game Catacomb mentioned.
Plenty of fantasy based games you could use.

Some video games you do not even need to extract them. I found some good pirate sound effects in Sid Meier's Pirates!

And, if your an idiot like me, you can accidently tell your realplayer to search your entire hard drive for media and add all the sound effects/voices from Morrowind and Oblivion to my library.
That was a lot of sound files!
