Okay, I'm a new member. I've skimmed through the threads, though, and I haven't seen this issue addressed. So mebbe Dan or someother knowledgable individual can help me.
What I'm trying to do: Create a zombie-ish type character with Swimming, Reduced End (0 END; +1/2) like the Zombie in Bestiary.
Problem: I can't find the advantage Reduced End for Swimming.
What I've tried: I've tried to add the advantage Reduced End to the power Swimming like I did for Running, but that particular advantage is not listed for that power.
I also have the Bestiary prefabs, and I couldn't find this particular one in corporeal undead or zombie options and a few other prefabs.
Question: Is there a way to set up Reduced End (0 End) for my Swimming on HD?
Long-winded, ain't I?
Finally, I have been using the Automaton character template. Anyone know if there is an undead template out there, or if one is being created or if a different template would be better for a zombie?
Thanks!

There seems to be a bug with HD in this regard. It would appear that when you check Add Modifiers to Base Characteristic and do not add any additional points of the Characteristic (including Running, Swimming, and Leaping), HD does not recognize that the Base Characteristic may have an END cost and thus does not make Reduced Endurance available as an Advantage.
Here's how you should be be able to add Reduced END to just the base value of swimming, but doesn't work due to the bug above:
1) Select the Power Swimming on the Powers tab.
2) Make sure Levels is set to 0 (you're not buying any additional Swimming) and that Add to Primary Value is selected in the Totaling Options field.
3) Check Add Modifiers to Base Characteristic.
4) Click Add Modifier ... and select Reduced Endurance from Advantages.
However, since this doesn't work, try this workaround:
1) On the Characteristics tab, reduce Swimming to 0.
2) On the Powers tab, select Swimming and buy 2 Levels (that is, buy back the 2" you sold off on the Characteristics tab)
3) Make sure that Add to Primary Value is selected in the Totaling Options field.
3) Check Add Modifiers to Base Characteristic.
4) Click Add Modifier ... and select Reduced Endurance from Advantages.
Another alternative is to buy a Naked Modifier on the Swimming.
1) Select Naked Modifier from the Powers tab.
2) On the Naked Modifier tab, set Max. Base Cost to 2 (the cost of 2" of Swimming), make sure that Uses END is checked, and set Range, Duration, and Target to None, Constant, and Self Only, respecitively.
3) Click Add Modifier ... and select Reduced Endurance from Advantages.
I hope this helps.

The problem is that HD is seeing +0 Swimming, which doesn't cost any END....so Reduced END is not available.
Another workaround, apart from what Rod mentioned above, is to buy Swimming as a Power, set the levels to something positive (say, 1) and then go to "Add Modifier". Reduced END will be available. Select it. Then set the levels back to 0. There's workarounds to many of the "modifier intelligence" issues that way....

Will version 2 correct this, so that when Add Modifiers to Base Characteristic is checked, HD will look at the total of the Base Characteristic plus the Levels added when it checks to see if it costs END?

Possibly....there are issues that will need to be looked into before I can make any definite statements, however....chances are likely that it would have to be a case-by-case thing, since you don't want the actual END display for a Characteristic Power to include the base Characteristic (and similar for other Advantages, Limitations, etc.).
Once I get a bit further along on the core modifier intelligence we can start looking into that.

Thanks for the information. The workaround was great. I am now in business with my zombie!:)
