The Hero pocket knife looks very cool (especially the stats on the back). Any chance getting more made and put on sale in the Hero Store :).

No. I had a small number of 'em made with my own personal money as giveaways to friends and industry colleagues; they're not a company-funded thing.

Where were these from?

And can we at least get a pic to drool over if they are unavalible?

You know... more nifty stuff like that, available in the store... might just sell. I know that a lot of web comics online sell a variety of different things like that... mugs, tote bags, mouse pads, different types of clothes... I know I would love a big hero games mug! :)

If it did not sell, that would be a ton of money.

I think some businesses online provide stuff like that as needed... so there is a minimum of upfront expenses... they do that with the web comics (that make next to no money) in mind. The downside to Steve and Hero Games would be low and we would get our cool Hero stuff!

I can look for more information on it... want me to look into it for you Steve?

We've already looked into Cafe Press and the like. It's something we're considering. The difficulty is that you typically have to sell a minimum amount of stuff, or they charge you money for your "store." If it were 100% for free to us, we'd consider it much more strongly, but the risk of having to pay money is one we're reluctant to take.

I've read an analysis of Cafe Press vs. doing it yourself. (I can dig up the link if anyone's interested.) Upshot is, if you're willing to invest the time to do it yourself (pack and ship orders, that is) you can do a lot better profit-wise than by having Cafe Press do it for you, and sell at a lower price to your customers to boot.

I'd like to see that analysis if you can hunt it up... :)

As you wish...

It's written from the POV of a webcomic artist, but the economic analysis is sound.
