View Full Version : PayPal for online store?

There are a few items only available in the online store that I'd be interested in. Digital Hero subscriptions and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, for example.
On the other hand, I don't have a credit card and probably won't for at least a few more months. Is there any way it could be configured to accept payment methods like PayPal?

I agree. Paypal is how I keep my purchases under the Mrs.'s radar.

I agree that if it's possible it would be cool

Me three!
but seriously, those of us that either tore up credit cards when we went back to school (like me) or those who never had one would appreciate being able to use paypal

At this point in time there is no plan to integrate PayPal into the online store. If you do not have a credit card you can always mail us a check or money order.

Given the various privacy, customer service, and security issues that have come up with PayPal of late, I think not getting involved with them is a pretty good plan. (Yes, I do have a PayPal account, I'm just sayin'...)
For those of you averse to getting a credit card, but who still want to be able to shop online, there's these things called debit cards, y'see. If you have a checking account (and you do if you have a PayPal account), you can get a card that will let you happily spend the money you keep in it. :)
I'm all for putting the onus on us in this matter, not DOJ. Accepting PayPal would one more headache to deal with (not to mention costly, should PayPal freeze their account for some random reason, as they have done to a few others).

Very interesting --
I was not aware that Paypal had been having major problems. The only issue which I've heard of concerned a fellow who lived & worked in Russia, where Paypal doesn't operate, but had his acct set up in Canada. His acct got frozen.
O well. I suppose I'll just order through www.rpgshop.com (http://www.rpgshop.com)
They carry the books & take Paypal. I would just have rather maximized DOJ's profit margin.
Thanks for the "Official-Type" response, Ben. It's good to know you guys keep up with these boards.

Some of these sites get pretty hysterical, but there's a lot of truth among the dross. I do know that Morrus, who runs ENWorld, had his account frozen (while it still had a couple thousand dollars in it), and had a devil of a time getting any response; he;s since dropped PayPal as a means to contribute to ENWorld, iirc.
FWIW, I've never had any problems with them, and I'm not trying to scare anyone away. If I were running a business, however, I'd be wary.
