View Full Version : I miss the "Our Products" section.

Yes, I know that most of the functionality of the old website's "Our Products" section can now be found in the online store: sorting according to genre and support line, and all that. In fact, the new store has some cool functions (sorting by book type, like Enemies books and adventure books) that the old site didn't have. High-fives for all that, really! :D
What I miss, though, is the pages showing the books by year in order of release, particularly the current and next year's schedule. This resource helped me to come up with a lot of my suggestions for TUEP, and plan ahead what packages of books to get (in particular, whether to get something right away or wait until another book, either one related to it or one that I'm just as eager to get, is out so I can save HG a couple bucks in shipping).
I also miss having the "Gallery of Book Covers," which was not only a very cool feature (as a destination rather than an avenue, I mean) but also the easiest way for me to see if I was lacking anything in a particular genre.
I'd just kind of like to see this section come back.... :)

I don't order from HG, but from my FLGS. This resource was my means of identifying upcoming products to request he order. My FLGS then puts the distributor on notice that there is some demand for this upcoming product.
I would also like to see this feature return.

We're working on a solution. Let us get through the current book and con-juggling and we'll see what we can put together. Part of the point of putting all that info in the store was to make sure people got to the store and saw what we have available, frankly. And so far, that seems to be doing pretty well- a number of our store-only items have seen sales bumps, so it seems like we're bringing new people to the store. But a simpler-to-use list with direct links to the store might be helpful too.
The other complaint we got a lot was that the product listings didn't get updated in a timely fashion, and considering how short-handed we always are adding another page that people can complain about being out of date seems counter-productive. If we can figure out a way to have that page automatically update itself when the store is updated, that would be ideal. We're still figuring it out, guys. dw

I hear you, Darren, and I feel your pain.... ;)
Seriously, I'll be patient for it, at least as long as I know you're trying to figure something out. I know you guys are going through the Dickens trying to get the actual books and other stuff out, and Con season is coming up, so of course there'll be a lot to worry about. Just do what you can.
And thanks! :D

It might help if someone was to make the 2007 and 2008 upcoming book threads sticky in this forum [or add two new announcement threads with the information here]. That way people will be able to find the information without trying to search it out.As a short-term interim fix, a single Sticky thread with the upcoming book lists would be just great.
