Powers Question?

Okay I'm running into a problem on a villain character I'm making. The character's main power is his ability to eat anything. I want to have him swallowing characters whole. Now I've toyed with this being a Entangle, thus allowing the creature to go grab another hero and do the same thing but I'm not sure. A Grab wouldn't work because your limited on how many folks you can grab. So how should I design this.

The other question for this same villain is "Digestive Adaptability" or the ability to eat anything and not suffer side effects, except the theatrical burp every once and awhile. I'm looking at Life Support.. maybe 20pts worth, is this the way to let him eat anything.

We've figured he doesn't need a HKA as 40str is enough for him to bite through most anything or at least gnaw it down.

The villain in question has tentively been dubbed "The Haggis", inspired by the beastie from R. A. Salvatore's "Spearwielders" series of the same name.

I think you're on the right track.

Entangle (with a Limitation so that the character takes damage from attacking the Entangle) seems like the right method for swallowing people. Presumably attacking the Entangle from the outside causes him to regurgitate the target rather than ripping a whole in his stomach. You could link a minor Continuous stomach acid RKA to the Entangle as well.

Life Support seems more than adequate to cover "can eat anything". I probably would require a bite HKA if the character could actually bite off pieces of metal and the like, just because teeth are normally represented as a killing attack. You could give a Concentration Limitation or something if he couldn't use it effectively in combat.

First, go check the Online USPD, under Miscellaneous Powers. "Matter Eater" should give you the kind of Life Support you're looking for.

As for swallowing characters whole, a version of the Wraparound ability from page 216 of the published USPD should give some ideas: Entangle up to the character's own DEF and BODY, Suffocating, Stops Senses, no Lockout, and adjust further as need be.

Also, if the character does chew through tough substances, I'd still recommend the HKA on his teeth just to make sure.
