I'm going to be attending GameFest (Richmond, VA, Sept. 19-21), and am hoping to put together a slate of Hero-related events with the help of the Legion.

If you're in the vicinity and interested in attending, please get in touch with me at SteveL@herogames.com.

I might be able to help out that weekend-depending on my being able to get that Friday and Saturday off. The other kink is that I have a gig (I play drums in a band) Saturday night and I would have to be back in town NLT about 8 or 9pm. If you think you can use me let me know and I'll see what I can do.

How about a con in Texas?

If a convention in Texas wants to invite me as a guest and pay my travel, rooming, and related expenses, I'd be glad to attend, and to organize some games if possible.

If a con in Texas wants one or more Legion Of Heroes volunteers to run games, the gaming coordinator should get in touch with me and I'll see what I can do.

FYI:

Attention:

The Gamefest Team has been keeping close eye on the weather conditions and hazards that may accompany Hurricane Isabel later this week as she touches land. Hurricane Isabel is currently listed as a category 3 hurricane, packing winds of well over 100mph and is expected to
gain additional momentum as she travels. The safety of our guests, attendees, staff, and the general community is the main importance by which we judge all decisions. Based on the current facts and predictions available to the Gamefest Team, and coupled with Governor Mark Warner's
declaration of a State of Emergency yesterday, we have found it necessary to cancel the Gamefest Richmond convention this weekend, September
19th-21st, 2003.

The Arthur Ashe Center is often used as an emergency shelter for neighboring Richmond area families from Norfolk and Virginia Beach left stranded by natural disasters like Hurricane Isabel. Advantage Convention Services (ACS), sponsor of the Gamefest Series, believes that
this possible need outweighs the significance of Gamefest Richmond being held on this particular weekend. Furthermore, ACS is concerned about
their guests, attendees, and staff traveling through severe winds and heavy rains; such conditions create too great a risk for holding the convention now. The Gamefest Series has been built and structured as a family event that fosters gaming within the local community and we believe
that it would be best for the community if families secured safe lodging with a good game in which to wait the storm out.

Advantage Convention Services apologizes for the inconveniences that this cancellation will undoubtedly produce but we do hope that you can understand and respect our decision. We would also like to thank the
countless volunteers, game organizers, exhibitors, and guests that have offered their time, skills and talents to help create a quality convention for our attendees to enjoy. Without their hard work and dedication the show could never happen. Attendees who pre-registered for the convention
will be contacted soon about rolling their pre-registration over to future events or as to how to obtain a complete refund. The Gamefest Team is already looking into rescheduling Gamefest Richmond; Hurricane Isabel may
blow through but she will not blow us away. The convention was panning out to be too good of a show not to hold it on another weekend. Discussions have begun to spark about possible spring dates and locations to hold Gamefest Richmond 3.5; be sure to visit the Gamefest website,
www.gamefestseries.com, for developing details.

The entire Gamefest Team extends their most heart felt concerns towards those in potential harms way and offers sincere thoughts and prayers that all will be safe and well. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Sincerely,

Gamefest Staff
