Hey Gang:

Here's the Heroine from a neat Chick Lit series, "Undead and........" by Mary Janice Davidson. It's meant to be a Soap as it is Chick Lit, but there are a few brawls and knock-down dragouts too. Also Betsy discovers wonderous powers which are just in time to save the King, who gets captured a few times or to defeat the Big Bad when all seems lost.

Background/History: Betsy died on her 30th birthday after being savaged by unidentified creatures and hit by a car. She woke up in her coffin in the Funeral Home the night before her funeral only to find that, of course, her Step-Monster had dressed her in a color she knew Besty hated and worst of all, stuffed her old shoes on Betsy's feet. After letting her family know she was back and indignantly taking her stolen shoes back from her Step-Monster, Betsy, with the help of her friends, defeated the Usurper to her Throne and was ensconced as Queen of the Vampires. Her tasks now are to earn the respect of all the other Vampires, including those stuffy old Europeans, look out for her friends and associates, manage her relationship with her husband, the King and care for her baby Brother.

Personality/Motivation: Betsy would like nothing more than a quiet, settled life but that does not seem to be in the cards. Between planning her Civil Wedding and caring for her baby Brother she must defeat usurpers who try for her throne, establish a reputation the other Vampires will respect, deal with would-be Teenaged Vampire Hunters and explain herself to the local Werewolf Tribe. On the side she authors the "Dear Betsy" Agony Aunt column in a local paper and delights in the lovely shoes her Husband the King buys her when he's ready to kiss and make up.

Quote: "Oooh me likey those boots !"

Powers/Tactics: Betsy is still new to being a Vampire and the use of her powers. She may have additional powers she hasn't discovered yet. In combat she will usually just kick and punch.

Appearance: Betsy is a tall and attractive blonde with blue eyes. She dresses well and is never out of her expensive pumps or slingbacks. When enraged, her eyes glow red and her fangs pop out into biting position.

I like your write up. Not that I'm big into fashion, but your character seems like she would a bit on the sassy side with the pumps being so important, my kind of person, fun.

The Devil in the Betsy Taylor books is an attractive middle aged woman in $2000 footwear. "Envies the Devil's Shoes" should have made it onto Betsy's sheet. ;)
