I was wondering, since this event will be taking place in California, if Hero Games will be making an appearance.

Yes, we plan to. I'm not sure yet whether I'll be there, but the West Coast crew will be.

I just got done working a booth at Anime Expo, which was held at the Anaheim Convention Center (where Gen Con West will be held). When we arrived at the loading dock we were told that we would not be allowed to use handcarts or any wheeled conveyances, we would either have to carry everything by hand, or we would have to pay union labour to move our stuff. As the union wanted a credit card in advance and would not even guesstimate a price until our stuff was loaded on a pallet and weighed, we chose to carry everything by hand. This turned out to be the correct action as the people in the booth next to us had to pay the union $1300 to have their stuff loaded in (the people on the other side of us has a double booth and they paid $3000). I would strongly suggest you contact the convention to see what the situation is going to be for the Gen Con load in, and that you pack everything in boxes that can be easily carried.
