Digital Hero subscribers who are interested in playtesting our new VIPER book can find the manuscript in the usual place. Looking forward to hearing your comments and suggestions, as always.

Is there a way to get my grubby little hands on it with out a credit card?

Thanks.

You have to be a DH subscriber. There are several ways to pay for a subscription. IIRC the Online Store describes the types of payments we take; if not, e-mail Ben and he'll tell you.

Is Viper loosy build on HYDRA (Marvels villans) ?
Is UNTIL based on SHIELD (Hydra's ennemie) ?

Actually, no, they are nothing alike. I can't speculate on how the original creators nearly two decades ago came up with the original names but I have found nothing that could link either group to their Marvel 'counterparts'. They are all different fish.

Well, in that both are drawing more or less on the same source material, they have some similarities. Both Viper and Hydra draw from such literary sources as SPECTRE, and before them the Si Fan and the Black Arrow Society, and the exagerrated exploits of historical organizations like SMERSH, the KGB, NKVD and GRU, and the Ku Klux Klan. Likewise, UNTIL and SHIELD draw from MI-6, UNCLE, UNIT, the popular perception of Interpol, and any number of other literary predecessors.

(There. That should give you young-un's an afternoon of entertaining Google-ing.) dw

Young-un's? Sheesh, make me feel old since not only do I remember watching UNCLE - I even know the Acronym. :p

Hi all,
I think the reference is to "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." Here U.N.C.L.E. stood for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.
Yours,
Mark Rand
