To get the prefabs and templates and skins and such, do I put them in the same place as the update?

On v1 (what you have), prefabs and templates can go anywhere you want.

To use a prefab you go to Prefab -> Load Prefab and then select the file.

To use a template, you go to File -> Set Template -> Choose File... and select the file.

If you download an export template, it has to go in the Export Templates directory (in your install folder).

If you download a skin, it has to go in the Themes directory (in your install folder).
