I have just downloaded Hero v3. Is there a way to increase the programs memory available?

There is no reason to do that as memory is handled by Java just fine. Don't pay too close attention to the graph in the corner. We have thoroughly beaten this particular topic to death. However, if you have to increase the memory you can do so by modifying the batch file to give it more.

I don't know the code off the top of my head, but if you use the search feature up above and search this forum you will see it several times, but again, I have to ask "why?". Is it not working with the memory it is currently alloted or something? It really is better to let it handle the memory the way it is designed. You'll end up just getting a diminished return if you start trying to out think it.

I have had it run out of memory several times now. It seem to happen when I have alot of Prefabs loaded. My HDv3 is running at 64M, is that about right?
Sorry about the first responce, went to your profile instead of your reply:)

I see. Simple fix for that... don't run a lot of Prefabs. The application isn't meant to have a bunch of prefabs running in the background. You can open a couple that you need, but close them when you are done. That is why there is an Unload All Prefabs option.
With the default memory you can open a character the size of Dr. Destroyer and work on him with no memory issues.

Thank you very much for the help. This now a resolved issue for me. I did do the search and found the edit to increase memery too. Just because I am anal, I will probably try that for a while as well. Thank you again.

No problem. Glad I could help. As a final FYI, if you do run into other crashes/problems, there is a log file that gets created in the HD directory. You can change its extension to .txt and post it to a thread for Dan to look at and see where the problem may be.
