So, I am getting ready to run Shades of Black. I am stoked about the adventure, it was a great read. I am looking for advice from anyone that has run it before.

Anything I should look out for?

Is there anything worth adding or changing from the adventure?

I belong to that sad group who has the module but has yet to have a chance to run it. At least I can agree with you that it is a fantastic read.

One of my favorite adventures put out by HERO Games/DoJ.

Mmm, I think the only area you might have trouble with would be making sure the player characters start to investigate into Talisman and BP and for some groups, those hooks may feel insufficient if you don't have a detective type.

In my case, I lucked out...one of my players' characters was in high society, and another had museum ties. All were pretty much friends with the Champions (who I took out of town shortly after this started so the PCs would be THE heroes). So this adventure seemed almost made for the group.

My advice would be to make sure you use any part of the PCs backgrounds that could tie in anyway you can, and if need be, create a new clue or two just in case that leads to the same. Personalize the target if you can.

Start early with making Talisman a memorable PC enemy. I used her for months before I ran SOB.

Good point. Perhaps you could even run the battle with Talisman that leads to her capture at the start of Shades Of Black.

I don't have SoB, but I've run two scenarios with my FtF group with Defender in an NPC role and Black Paladin as one of the villains. I'm tempted to give BP a new Psych Lim: Avoids Fights with Defender Present...

That vuln of BP's will drop him in a heartbeat with only the slightest bit of luck. On the other hand, hitting him can be problematic (though the fact he's been one-shotted twice in two showings should be a cautionary tale)...

Very clever... and good advice of course. Should make the scenario work much more organically with an game.
