Has anyone seen or done anything to convert some of this genre from GURPS to HERO 5th Ed?

yawn. I'd rather do Lost In Space HERO.:p :p Just kidding.
Actually Transhuman Space HERO sounds really interesting. Nothing turned up in a short search on Google. Is there any GURPS to HERO conversion stuff out there? I haven't looked.

I've got a link in here that offers translation of Hero to GURPS - I guess you could go backwards...

Well if there hasn't, I probably will start doing so, and this'll be the place to see it! :D

Problem is that Transhuman Space VERY grounded in GURPS, more so than any other GURPS setting I've seen. Converting every little thing (like the deliciously detailed explosive decompression rule :D ) would be a real pain.
GURPS->Hero NPC Stats are fairly easy though. I'd subtract 10, multiply by ~2.5, and add 8 (Human Avg. is 10 in GURPS, 8 in Hero; PCs generally have lower stats in GURPS than their Hero equivalents).
ST = STR, DX = DEX, IQ = INT, HT = CON, Hits/Hit Points = BOD...

That's only because it's like, the ONLY RPG version of Transhuman space out there. We don't need to recreate the very "gurpsy crunchy bits" if Hero already has solid rules for it. The idea is to bring the flavor and tone of the setting over, not that lousy game system.

That's what we are trying to do...translate!
The beauty of HERO is that you can use the rules to describe most any SFX.
For example, we were very easily able to 'translate' the Guardian Template from Fifth Wave to something more workable.
