It's amazing that Kite-man didn't get eaten by a tree. Though it would of been amusing to see Swamp Thing make an appearance.

Who would think that Pink and yellow would be intimidating?
BTW, this proves that sucky writing has always been with us. But I think with a little lesson in teamwork and the right Foxbatleader these losers could be turned into a team of true world conquerers. If only such a Foxbatleader could be found.
'Course the Asbestos guy is probably dead.

But where was the Circus of Crime?
(Bet I could sell tickets of Princess Python going one-on-one with She Hulk!)

While I agree with the lameness of most of these characters, I do have two objections*:
1) I always thought Spot had a great power set. If he wasn't so stupid he could have been a great villain. The article does seem to imply that, though: "But instead of using them to transport into banks and steal money or to blackmail the Kingpin and take over his empire by learning all his business secrets, he instead decides to use his immense power to simply go directly to Spider-Man so he can lose to him in a fight. Brilliant." I often wondered if this was a lack of imagination on the writer's part, or if they realized what they created afterward and wrote him off because he could be too powerful? I think it's a bit of both. My theory is that Spot was created by an artist on a lark and the writers tried to work him in without really thinking about it.
2) Terra-Man... Silver Age cheesy goodness. I just love Terra Man  He was much missed after Superman's reboot in which he no longer existed. (Then came 52... :( )
*What do you expect from the president of the Stilt-Man Appreciation Society? :D

I always liked Spot, too. The rest of the characters on this list are just silly or downright stupid. I can say I haven't even heard of some of them. Seems like a lot of Spidey and Batman villains. Could that be that they have too many titles to fill?

Ten-Eyed Man
GM <to Ten-Eyed Man> "The villain hits you with a sight flash attack"

I LIKED Terra-Man. He had a REALLY good lariat. Recently he appeared in that LSH cartoon show, this time as a robot. Personally, I think that just because you're a robot, it's not OK to tear you apart if you sound like a person.

My first Champions character was teleporter who was partially based on the Spot's powerset. You can do all sorts of things with that powerset--stretching (does not cross intervening space), EDM, Clairsentience, EBs, Missile Reflection. A cool idea given terrible execution in the comic.

Dumb as she might be, Magpie doesn't really belong on the list because she's a criminal pretending to be a supervillain, not a supervillain.
Now, the Red Nine is a dumb supervillain, although it's not entirely clear that he's so much a villain as a superpowered moron.
This dolt showed up in NY in some spiderman comic with a powered suit that made him strong, gave him flight, made web not stick to him and let him shoot energy blasts. (Kind of like a cheap knockoff of Iron Man)
He just turned 16 and some friends put him on a bus to NY so he could beat up Spiderman. So he chases Spidey around NY causing property damage.
My candidate for lamest super villain. The Red Nine.

I was wondering if I was the only person to think of a Peanuts reference with Charles (Charlie to his friends) Brown:D

I liked Spot too. In fact, I used his power set for part of Villain duo: Dot and Dash. :)

Well he -was- trying to kill a child at the time and really, he didn't give them much other option what with his Terminator approach and all.

I'd read somewhere that The Spot came about because of a scheduling gaffe, and Marvel had to come up with a filler villain on short notice..
And he was Johnny Ohn The Spot.

Good thing he didn't go to the wrong doctor. He could have become the Incredible Trouser Snake, the One-Eyed Man. ;)
