Let's make a superhero Part 5: Champion Archetype

And our 'Let's make a superhero' experiment continues to form up. With other polls soon to close, we open up this one going to what some might see as the end , but more accurate might be 'the end result' because there's so much more to fill. Today we begin to vote on archetypes. Since this is a Champions forum, we'll be going by the list in the Champions Genre book...minus 1.

Sadly, in this case, there can be only 10. What's more, mixing of archetypes also seems at this point unlikely, committee poll voting has many limitations. Which one is getting left off? Patriot....while I myself like Patriot, it is the most often disputed Archetype on these boards in my experience.
So please pick from one of these for our hero:

Well, it also depends on what type of metamorph. For example, if the main power is not so much shape shifting but just growth, well, some might prefer an attractive Asian woman to say (and no offense to you Scots) a 10 story tall highlander guy in a kilt!


I voted Energy Projector. Hard to top them for versatility.
I'm undecided myself. EP is one of the three I'm currently considering though.

While I voted Mentalist, I'd like the character to have elements of Martial Artist and Weapons Master as well.

In other words, a Jedi Knight or something like that. Lightsaber is optional, but would be really cool to have.

In other words the ultimate typecast, a Mystic Samurai. (George Lucus Just combinded Wux Wu and Japanese Samurai movies and put it in Space. Presto Star Wars Jedi Knights.)

I think playing against type would be best (I voted Metamorph, but the more I think about it Gadgeteer is what I should have chose. It is the least used type for an oriental girl. (I can't think of any, put I am sure a Anime fan will point one out.)

I'm not an anime fan, but I'll take this as a challenge. ;)

She's a villain, but B-ko (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_A-ko#B-ko_.28Biko_Daitokuji.29) from Project A-ko is one example.

First one I was in time to vote on! I chose Speedster, because I looked at what had been chosen so far and that's what I pictured. Although part of me is sad I didn't choose Brick. Especially if she's the size/build of the stereotypical Japanese girl.

I went for Metamorph because it's my favorite type.

This is the first poll I was in time to vote for. Too bad; I have some opinions about some of the others. Some of them rather strong opinions: "Asian, Female"---can we not be so BLOODY predictable?!? Oh, and Japanese, too. :rolleyes: Glad to see "happy loving family," "Middle class" not so glad about. I would've voted for "Unwanted Power" as it would be the most interesting.

Anyway, time for me to hit the rest of the polls that are up. I'll be looking for others in the future. Interesting idea! :)

Well, like I said, maybe we'll make a runner up from second place selections... White Male who doesn't care about his Identity one way or the other and fights crime for the Thrill of it, having either mythic ancestry or magically bestowed Metamorph Power might work. Maybe the two heroes know each other :)
