Inspired by Shadowcats three conversions, I've decided to post up my Adult Divine Dragon, which is based on Gold Dragons, but changed to fit my home brew campaign. Enjoy! (feedback welcome)

Interesting stuff. What are the divine dragons like?

Well, they are one of the rarest types of dragons, and are one of the most powerful. This writeup (along with the other age categories) was a prototype for figuring out other dragons. Since I haven't been able to play hero much I don't have the greatest idea on how powerful this dragon actually is, since it's all just number theory for me and no practical application. Maybe I should post of the other age categories (or at least a few others) so people can get a look at the progression?

That would be good, thanks.

The Dragon seems both quite powerful and underpowered in many respects.

The Strength seems a little low for one of the biggest of dragonkind. Str 40-45 seems more reasonable. In general add +5 STR for each "level" of size above human size (compare to the Vehicular size chart in FREd or the UV)

Also, the Dragon's Dex score is a little low. Sure, dragons are huge, hulking creatures, but they are also incredibly agile and some of the most graceful flyers in the sky. A higher Dex will represent no only their aerobatic prowess, but also represent their legendary combat prowess much better. However, I do agree that they should be fairly easy to hit due to their large sizes...this is taken care of in the Physical Limitation category...their large size provides them with a DCV penalty...again, compare the dragons size to the Vehicle size chart to get the appropriate penalty.

Now we come to their Defenses...I think they are both too high and too low. Confused. Allow me to explain.
You have Dragons with Physical and Energy Damage Resistance of 9 each. Add to that the Dragonscale hide (armor) with 10pd/10ed each. That gives the dragon a 19pd/19ed resistant defense! In addition to this, the dragons have 25% Physical and Energy Damage Reduction! Granted, the Physical Damage Reduction is not resistant, so thats not so bad.
Be aware that its going to be incredibly difficult for Heroic level characters to do any sort of body damage to these creatures at all, unless they are able to max out the damage of two handed weapons such as Greatswords or Battleaxes. (or if the characters have Deadly blow vs Dragons or very powerful magic weaponry) if this is what you were going for, you've acheived it. Otherwise, you might want to drop the defense a few ponts (I would suggest a total resistant Defense of 15pd/15ed.
But that just accounts for Body damage. Stun Damage is another animal altogether. Your Divine Dragon has 10Pd Armor and a PD of 12 for a total of 22pd vs Stun damage. A successful hit to the dragons head from a 2D6+1K weapon would do an average of 8 Body damage (the Dragon is in no danger from this) and 40 freaking points of Stun damage!. That means the Dragon will take 18 points of Stun damage from this attack..and its not even a maximum damage attack. Of course, the 25% Damage Reduction will kick in and reduce that to 14 pts of Stun damage. Of course, this won't come close to stunning the dragon, but with a Stun score of only 66 points, it would only take 5 hits of this nature to put the Dragon unconscious.
My suggestion? Drop the Resistant Defense to around 15pd/15ed total (although, a slightly higher resistant energy defense is okay for dragons...especially energy breathing ones) so that 1 or 2 points of body damage can get through every once in a while, but with a Body of 28, it will take a while to take the Dragon out. (and the Dragon isn't "dead" until it reaches -28 Body!!!)
Increase the Pd and Ed to resist Stun Damage. The 25% Damage reduction is fine...it will help avoid high amounts of Stun damage from time to time without significantly affecting the Body damage.

Also, your Dragon needs skills. Lots of them. Knowledge skills. Dragons usually live for millenia...if they aren't immortal, so they tend to accumulate vast amounts of knowledge.

Also, the SPD should be bumpted up to at least SPD4, if not Spd 5. Dragons are fiercesome in battle and their Speed should reflect that.

Thats all for now.

Thanks for all the input!

Some of the oddities are due to the conversion process (I used KS's site), but mostly due to my lack of hands on experience with the game. The Dex score was low because all dragons in DnD have 10 Dexterity. That's one of the places that I was pondering on, actually.

As far as skills go I hadn't put loads on because each dragon is an individual, so I didn't want to lock it down since this is supposed to be similar to a racial package deal. I suppose I could make up a few different Archtypal skills sets for quick use.

I will lower the total RPD down a bit, and use the points on upgrading its' non resistant Defense.

Also, the attack powers didn't look bad? I had been readjusting them several times.

K, last time I had mentioned getting up the other age categories, I still need to do that. I think I'll just put up a couple .zips, one text, the other HD. Anyways, thanks!
