View Full Version : Question: Well I've made a custom template and it don't work right!

Added three custom characteristics: MD (Mental Defense), MANAREC (Recovery of Mana) and MANA (AKA Spell Points).

My problem is, that for reasons I cannot fathom, MANAREC is being calculated as
(INT/5+EGO/5)*3...I don't see where I've made this mistake.

Oooh! More questions
I'd like my custom characteristics to not display a "Roll" as they don't actually have one...
and two can I the mental defense power to add to the MD characteristic?

1. MANAREC is being calculated that way because of the CUSTOM2INCREASE and CUSTOM2INCREASELEVELS attributes, which you have on INT, EGO, and SPD. It is being calculated as INT/5 + EGO/5 + 2*SPD.

2. There is no current way to change the Roll/Notes display internal to the application. You can set a custom export format to display the characteristics however you like.

3. Use the same attributes that you used for INT, EGO, and SPD -- CUSTOM2INCREASE and CUSTOM2INCREASELEVELS

So, I would alter the Mental Defense Power to increase the custom2; now would that increase the MD display on the Characteristics tab or would it just alter the "Total Defense" on the Mental Defense Power? Both?

EDIT: Also, should I at the Types: Defense, and Special to MD (Custom1) ?

Give this a shot Chad. I may have to change things around depending on which custom characteristic you used for each and since this is an old v2 export template I may need to fix the tags, but give it a try and let me know.

Alright! Thanks. okay, the only problems I've seen is that all three custom characteristics out put as "MD". But, I think once I look at it I can adjust that.

hey do you know if there is a way to output the increased damage differential for STR from the Ultimate Brick?

They all output as MD? Oops. Hehe. That was due to rushing and copy/pasting. Just edit the "MD" in the template and you'll be good to go.

As for the increased damage differential, I believe that would be in the notes part so it would be hard coded into HD.

Weird, the non-breaking spaces aren't being rendered in the output. Not sure why.

You can probably delete the "Total:" off the MREC and MANA.

it is just about perfect, there is the /tab for notes and martial arts that always shows up so I filed it off.
