Hi all,

Due to getting quite a few requests, we are working on completing a Lulu storefront that will carry Traveller Hero stuff that was not currently planned for print. This will include the GAS books, Special Supplements, etc.

We have been trying to work out how to combine material to keep the price as low as possible (lower prices = more consumer acceptance). Lulu's cost structure, as you probably know, does not make that too easy.

The other challenge we are trying to overcome is that much of the artwork in the pdfs is at maximum screen viewing, but that does not always translate to good print quality. We are trying to get the artwork at a higher resolution. As soon as we have this worked out and the storefront 'open for business', we will be making an announcement of such on our website's front page.

[NOTE: For those interested, this will also make some of our other, non-Hero, pdfs available for purchase in print as well.]

for Traveller Hero and etc...I did not know what is was either!

Lulu is a site that will enable customers to purchase the pdfs as print books instead. Lulu will print and bind them for you.

Lulu is a Print On Demand company. I have a love/hate relationship with them personally.

OK GA why do you dislike Lulu then, I might be interested in buying some
.pdf's from Comstar for Traveller product line and would like them printed
for me and bound. Your comments PLEASE!!!

If Lulu has increased their print quality since I last dealt with them they'll be alright.

POD is hit or miss I've found. Personally I like the quality and customer service of iUniverse, though they're on the pricey end last time I looked around.

I don't have any ill will towards Lulu - at least I don't want them as dead and gone as I want Yahoo dead and gone - but I doubt I'll send any work I've got their way. I would place my feelings at neutral towards lulu overall, i.e. I'd buy books from 'em if people sent 'em there.
