So what is it that anyone wants to see an Article on?
The Poll will help point the way.
And do not post with "anything. "
My experience has led me to believe that most Fantasy campaigns are tailored to each GM's taste. Detail is everything.
I would think posting plot / story arcs would be difficult to write to an author's taste and then translate into another campiagn, but maybe..
Worth a shot
My intention is to start a Fantasy Character Posting thread once I get my cold clammy hands on FH.
Using Enforcer84's thread as a model, if we do a tenth as well, it will Kick ^%^%@.
sorry, little cartman there.

What I want is what you said was difficult - adventure arcs.
Decent, well-written adventures that can be modified to fit my game are highly prized.
Short adventure seeds are OK, but not so useful: I can generate those myself by the bucketload, and it still leaves me the task of writing the damn things up.
In general, a useful adventure/story arc should not:
be knitted tightly to a tightly woven campaign: a good rule of thumb is that if it would be difficult to port to a different system, then it may be difficult to port to another Hero game world
contain too many phrases like "no matter what they try the players will not be able to..."
Otherwise, interesting locations or personages who can be dropped into a game are useful.
cheers, Mark

Ho w about a multilayered "cat's paw" type of assault on a society.
one that does not require the characters to find out that they are lost gods of some civilization and the illegitamate some of a vile noble..

Interesting small encounters, sort of like "wandering monsters" but more interesting and plausable. Things that have nothing to do with the overall plot of the campaign, but could provide a diversion for a game session or so.
Examples:
Down with the king, the party stumbles onto a group ploting the overthrow of the government, do the players join them, report them, does the group decide the players know to much? Perhaps the players report them or have to fight them only to find the group is made up of minor members of the royal family and now the players are suspect.
X marks the spot, the party comes into the possesion of a map or an individual approaches them to help find a "FORTUNE IN LOST TREASURE".
Just little things to sprinkle into the game that have nothing to do with the long term goals.

Hmmmmmmmm.
OKies
villian A has Plot a going to hurt The Baron of Westernos's millitary though an assaination plot to take out his most loyal henchman who is a millitary genius.
Evidence from the foiling of the plot for the assassination leads to villian B who has Plot a as a proof for his Plot b to lead/convince the Orcish tribe to launch an attack on the Barony thereby letting him finish wiping out the tribe and getting his hands on the Treasure the Orcish Tribe was guarding.
the treasure still ends up disappearing because of villain C's Plot c to use this as a distraction to swipe the treasure in order to pay off a debt to a Draconic Lord who will be using the pay off to raise a mercenary army to.... Etc.......

I would definitely like to get a good equipment price list, like Seenar suggested.
A great article, I think, would be a 'character sheet' for building a kingdom/nation (things that you would spend points on to determine the economic power, citizens, technology and magic levels, etc). In other words, how to build a nation/kingdom using the Hero system.
Locations and the NPCs that inhabit them are almost always useful. Perhaps even more important than the NPCs would be plot hooks.
A series of articles (if anyone wanted to try this, and if it would be approved) would be for a person or group to come up with a world, and write a series of articles about the various locations and politics/culture/etc of the world.

What do you mean by "Combinatorial threats to a society?"
"We could be attacked by any of 12 different monsters, each of whom could be wielding any of 10 different weapons, which could each have any of 20 different spells cast on them, ..."

com·bi·na·to·ri·al
Function: adjective
1 : of, relating to, or involving combinations
2 : of or relating to the arrangement of, operation on, and selection of discrete mathematical elements belonging to finite sets or making up geometric configurations
short answer: Yes, that is what I meant
Long answer: A threat to a society that uses, not one, or two different operations but five or more.
i.e.: Not just a supernatural threat useing a form of Magic but many forms, which are employed by fighting orders, monastic orders and secret orders that collect intelligence, spy, sabotage and commit out and out crime to sow fear, loathing, distrust, panic, and hoax to foment social upheaval, chaos, anarchy amd class rebellion.
This also appies to motivation for the above. Love, Hate, revenge, honor, greed, self-defense, theology, geo-political, Insanity or boredom.
How is that for an answer?
