I'm putting together a team of supers based out of the american southwest set in modern day, but with a old west feel. I've almost finished the team but need a big,strong,tough guy to round out the roster.
any help will be appreciated,thanks in advance,Ken

Well, assuming your team has a cowboy flavor to them...

Longhorn: Minotaur style brick.
Gridiron: Former football player with steel skin
Mesa: Thing like rock skinned brick
Bronco: Brick with extra running

My own brick from the southwest was a COIL gene mutate named Rattlesnake who drove around in a monster truck, drank a lot of beer and gave people the finger...feel free to steal him if your players are wrestling fans.

I created a 50 Str Brick with a 7 SPD and 29 Dex called Mustang once.
He carried a rope and would Lasso people and tie them up as if he was in a Rodeo. Or throw them around and stuff like that.

The Outlaw - Gun guy.
The Mortician - Mentalist with death powers.
Hangman - Guy with a magical rope noose. He was nasty.

I like that longhorn idea. But here's one of mine that I have no use for yet in my campaign. Forge is the son of a viper scientist who crafted super-weapons for the agency. The hammer he weilds is his legacy and has granted him a few superhuman powers that he uses to right the wrongs of his family past. He's tall, black, bald, wearing a smith's apron and carrying a large hammer. His special effects typically involve sparks and heat. He has a minor EC only for some flavor (no major offensive powers in there). He might fit nicely into a western group, being a smith by trade.

Cliched/Comedy:- Dangerous Dan McGrew, probably a 40 STR brick, but with cinematic brawling skills. Loves using the chin block. If you want extra comedy, he wears a red flannel shirt, a big hat and eats cow pies. This one is a combination of the character Rimmer played in the Gunmen of the Apocalypse story in "Red Dwarf" with the costume and trappings of Desperate Dan, the Dandy Man. Don't know who he is? Hey, looks like I'm late on this thread, but just in case someone else is reading this: my best friend and I have been playing in a campaign set in the west. Our team is called The Renegades, and our characters are Captain Fantasic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (old Elton John album). Silly as they sound, they're our favorite characters. We've been playing them or versions of them for nearly 20 years. Brown Dirt Cowboy is a brick who also has a lasso (super-strong cable bought as Stretching so he can do tricks with it).

Our original brick was indeed a minotaur type character named Longhorn but we eventually ended up with a brick named Pumpjack. He had the ability to absorb vast amounts of crude oil (black gold, texes tea, you get the idea) giving him Density Increase and host of other oil related powers ranging from Running (via an oil slick) to a Desolidification (slippery coat) that could only be used to slip out of Grabs and Entangles.

For reference the other members of the Lone Stars were...
Longhorn - former Houston Oiler with minotaur (brick) powers
Pumpjack (replaced Longhorn) - Oil Tycoon with oil (brick) powers
Matador - a Mexican bullfighter with a confusing Multipower of Images (self), Invisibility, Desolidifcation, and Teleportation plus bullfighting skills (martial arts)
Ranger - a Texan (patriot) marksman (weaponmaster) and leader of the team
Twister - a rodeo star with whirling (speedster) powers
Wildfire - a model with fire powers (energy projector)
Thunder Hawk - an American Indian shaman (mystic) with spirit powers (mentalist)
Chupucabra (replaced Thunder Hawk) - a Mexican Indian mutant with a VPP of animal powers (metamorph)
... and one or two more I can't remember at the moment.

A Texas brick should have Growth, with a continuous Aid to his own Growth, only to become larger than anyone else around. Just sayin'. ;)

I'm reminded of the Texan who visited Maine. No matter what natural wonder his host pointed out, the Texan boasted about Texas having something bigger or better. Irritated, the Maine man put a live lobster in the Texan's bed when he wasn't looking. When the Texan pulled back the sheet and saw the lobster, he shouted in surprise, "What the heck is that?!" The man from Maine smiled and said, "Oh, that's a Maine bedbug. Don't you have bedbugs in Texas?" The Texan regained his composure and said, "Oh, sure we do. I've just never seen a baby one before!"

How about a steam locomotive based char? I'm thinking steampunk or wild wild west (for effects only) he has a move-through with xtra knockback (the cow catcher) , and lots of running (straight line only), some sort of flash and/or darkness (steam) and a wicked punch.

Possibly would make a nice villian ala juggernaught.
