I am trying to build a hacker using Mental Powers that affect the machine class of minds. I'm building most of these "powers" with a requirement that they have to work over an appropriate interface such as a computer cable or wireless link. To do this, I'm using a restrainable Mind Scan to simulate the effect of plugging into an appropriate network.

The other powers (Mind Control, telepathy) effectively have no range unless plugged into a network or connected directly through a device. Do the rules allow me to apply the "no range" limitation to these mental powers if I plan to use them at a distance through a Mind Scan (the Mind Scan will not have any range limitations)?

More generally, can a "no range" mental power be used to make an attack against a remote target through Mind Scan?

A Mental Power with No Range or Limited Range cannot be used through a Mind Scan lock-on unless the target is within the power’s regular range (which is pretty unlikely, given that Mind Scan’s being used to find him, but not totally out of the question).
