I'm not trying to be a nag, BUT it was said the bestiary would be reprinted with Fantasy Hero. Did it, is it. I'm planning on ordering Fantasy Hero and wondered if it was out or soon would be. Tried several sites online a couple of months ago to get a copy and couldn't get one. I gave up and decided to wait for Fantasy Hero, do I still have to wait. I'm ordering offline and would like to make just one order. Besides it makes the neighbors nervous when I get alot of packages from UPS. "But officer I'm sure it said Plutonium on the side of the box, and he never seems to leave his house or talk to anyone in the neighborhood."

Here's what Steve Long said about the Bestiary in
another thread (http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6098).
... We just got that set up the other day, so we should have new Bestiaries in a couple weeks, last I heard. It would've been sooner, but as luck would have it we had to reprint 5E, and that takes priority (and funds). ...

Balok has beaten me to the punch with an explanation. Good thing I have my corbomite device handy in case he gets uppity. ;)
We actually had 5 copies of the HSB for sale at GenCon that I dug out of my personal stash; they sold out by Friday, IIRC. We'll keep you updated on the reprint as the situation warrants.

The Bestiary reprint should be completed sometime in August. We'll let you know as soon as we have a better date. dw

The Bestiary has stats for both dragons and demons. No colored drgaons, cause that is plain silly :).

And let me assure you that Demons are scary. I put a pair of lesser strength demons up against my 400 point superhero players and they got creamed.
I'm not quite sure how a 150 point party of fantasy characters is supposed to beat one......:D

Well, 150-point characters are beginning level for a lot of fantasy HERO campaigns. There are plenty of demons in the Bestiary more suitable as foes for them: demon hounds, demon steeds, shadows, imps and demonlings. Tougher foes should be held back until they have more experience, though.
I do agree that the Bestiary includes demons that would terrify just about any level of super opposition, as befits its cross-genre nature. The mighty demon princes would give Dr. Destroyer pause.

The dragons in the Bestiary are very scary as well.
I am actually currently running a game with 1 player + 1 NPC, 75+75 characters, who are going to be facing a varient of the Demon of Strength. They have a chance, as he will start off severely wounded...

Speaking of the Bestiary, is Monsters, Minions, And Marauders, going to basically be the Fantasy Bestiary or will that be another book at a later time?

MMM contains two things:
1. "Generic" monsters that weren't included in the HSB for various reasons. This includes not only humanoid monsters (orcs, ogres, trolls, giants, and such), but more undead beings and various other stuff. A few of these are specific to the Turakian Age setting, but most are suitable for any setting -- and even the "specific" ones are easily adaptable to another setting by simply changing the name.
2. "Named" enemies/villains/whatever you want to call 'em from the Turakian Age setting (but again, readily usable in pretty much any FH campaign). Examples include a specific city guard with his own personality/agenda/etc., Veltharex the lich, the Lord of Spiders (spymaster for the Hargeshite Empire of Vashkhor), and Skarm the dragon.

The Bestiary includes four different Dragons.
1) Lesser Dragon, flys, breaths fire, etc.
2) Greater Dragon, bigger, more powerful, flys, breaths fire.
3) Wyrm, Also breaths fire but it's wingless and doesn't fly.
4) Wyvern, flys, venomuus bite and spits poison as well.
There are 13 various Demons and Devils. They range in cost from 224 points (an Imp) to 1411 points (one of the Demon Princes) so you ought to be able to work up a Summon for some of them.
There are also Elementals, Golems, various Undead. Lots of good fantasy stuff.

The HSB is a great book :) I'd also recommend looking at the Sci-Fi section for creatures to mine for FH :)

I don't hold back at all actually, it is up to the players to decide whether to engage, flee, parley, etc. In a 3e D&D campaign I ran a while back, the characters at 2nd level first got a taste of my GMing style when they encountered a Manticore (they wisely elected not to fight, and actually got useful info from it), then later on, encountered a Beholder (again, wisely chose not to fight, but fled instead). They didn't fear the ogres at 2nd level initially, but when the first damage roll came in, they got a bit concerned ;)

Yeah, I remember playing with you. Some adventures I think we fled more than fought....

Makes it more exciting that way :)
I still recall playing Kang in your Lankhmar campaign and having gone into some catacombs in the marshes, getting hacked up (-7 BODY!), and some other PC wanting to go back in there, and I was like WTF?! :)
