Cutting and Pasting?

Greetings,

I designed an EC that is a special power package that more than one character is going to get to take. I would like to be able to cut and paste the EC into the various characters, or create a file that could just be added into the power section of each character. Is there a way I could do this?

Please note: I did check the documentation on p. 14. It said I could use the 'edit' to copy and paste to another character. I selected the power, highlighted it, clicked 'copy', then when I opened the other character and went to power tab on second character, I tried to paste, but the paste option was not highlighted.

What version of the app are you running? It's working fine when I try it...

Version 1.47.

I tried also to make up a character and save as a prefab. It allowed me to save the prefab. When I tried to loat the prefab into another character, it didn't load any of the powers, disadvantages, skills or talents.

Any ideas on what I may have done wrong?

Prefabs load into the prefabs tab. You select each item and assign it to the character (like a regular Power).

As for the cutting and pasting, I have no idea....it will help if you give more details of what you're doing. Be specific.

When you highlight the ability on the first character and click "copy", if you go back to the edit menu, is "paste" enabled?

How are you getting to the second character that you want to paste into?

First, thanks for your help on the prefab... it works GREAT now! :)

As for the cutting and pasting, here is what I am doing step by step:

1. Open HD, and open Alexander Character.

2. Go to Powers section, and Select Praetorian EC power, and click on 'edit' and then 'copy'.

3. Open Jesca character.

4. Go to Powers tab, and select "edit". Paste is not a highlighted option.

When I click on the 'edit' part of the Alexander character now, "paste" is an available option. So, I can paste it back onto the Alexander character, but not on the new character (Jesca).

This isn't as important now that the prefab thing is working (a GREAT feature, I must say). It would be nice to know what I am doing wrong tho...:)

Okay, I am not sure why... but the cutting and pasting is working now just as advertised (now "paste" is the option that is highlighted).
