View Full Version : Is this still an option?

I was looking into running a few champions games for my local convention at the end of March and couldn't find the link to this anymore. I was looking for ideas as to what type of scenarios work best for the convention atmosphere, besides the free for all last man standing scenario I am planning on doing. What else need I do to get more involved with this? I am also only comfortable with only running Champions, since I only recently got the updated Fantasy Hero rules and have barely begun reading through that book.
thanks.

What sort of storyline are you comfortable with?

I am completely fine with just about anything in the superhero genre. I just don't know the rules/specific details for the other genres that the Hero System supports.

More to the point, is the Legion of Heroes still in effect? And if so where can I get the info to join?

Technically, yes, it's still in effect, though I'll have to see if the application forms are still available on the Free Stuff page. I'd like to update and reinvigorate the Legion a bit, but there are only so many hours in my day (curse my need to sleep! :) ). Right now we mostly just field occasional requests from game stores and cons for Hero GMs by posting them here, and rely on a dedicated corps of GMs who run dozens of games for us at Origins and GenCon.

I'm "in" the Legion, and would love to see it supported again/reworked. Cons & demos could be a great place to make sense of the rules for the new players.
I'd love to see Hero work with CO as well.
BTW--Thanks to all at Hero the great prize support for my games over the years!

I've just gotten back into running HERO again after convincing my gaming group to switch. I was a member of the LEGION years ago and also would like to see it jumpstarted again. There are a number of small conventions in the area where I could run scenarios.

That sounds cool.
And good for you on getting your group to play Hero.

I think I am actually a member too :D
at least I was. Does it expire?
Since I never was able to actually officially run I never did/reported/posted anything.
I am testing the "official GMing at a Con" waters this month at Gamestorm. If it pans out I will move to more at Dragonflight.
I guess we should post "Legion Game Reports" here. In fact what would everyone think about the idea of posting "modules" here for use by other legionnaires? Not full blown commercial grade, but if you run a successful session at a con and want to share, you can clean it up and post here. That way people who are getting ready to run their first Con game can see a sample of what has worked in the past.
This could also work for any homemade handouts or character sheet formats that you found to be handy at a con.
Just a thought.
