Desired effect:

Cast a time-consuming blessing (Constant power) before combat.
Blessing has a fixed duration.
Blessing activates at the start of actual combat.
No predetermined limit on number of times case per day.

Is there a typical way to build this in terms of the
advantages and limitations?

Since the mechanical effect is a Constant power, it
seems to require an arrangement of Delayed-Effect,
Trigger, and Uncontrolled. (And Extra-time obviously.)

If were an Instant power, it seems like Lingering and
Trigger would be sufficient.

Lingering, with Extra Time as a disad for casting? And probably Persistant too, I'd guess...

Delayed Effect is for games that have a number of Spells you can Ready or Cast as a limit. Not appropriate to this situation.
Extra Time is for when a Power takes a set time to activate and/or use. It could be used here, but not the best mechanic.

Bless: +1 with HTH Combat, Trigger (Activating the Trigger is an Action that takes no time, Trigger requires a Half Phase Action to reset, Character does not control activation of personal Trigger; When Combat Starts; +1/4), Usable By Other (+1/4), Uncontrolled (Ends Automatically After 2 Turns; +1/2) (10 Active Points)

Trigger: This sets the condition the Bless starts to take effect on. The Recipient cannot control this Trigger Event. Resetting is a matter of "casting" a new Bless.
Uncontrolled: It lasts a specified period of time once activated (I randomly put down 2 Turns)
Usable By Others: The caster can grant this ability to others (makes it a Spell).

I chose Combat Skill Levels as an example to go from, if you choose an Instant Ability you will need to add Constant or Persistent on top of these.

Differing Modifiers can be used with the Usable By Others to create a "Spell" with Limitations that the Caster must obey but the recipient need not worry about.
