What is 'Animated Style Write-ups'?

I've seen and read many posts where the words Animated Style is used, such as the thread DC: Animated Style. What exactly is Animated Style and how does is compare to what is isn't?

Yes, I've seen Batman:AS, Superman, Teen Titans, etc., on television fyi.

Animated Style simply means the writeup is based on the character as it appeared on TV or DVD, rather than from the comic books. Sometimes this is not much difference at all, sometimes there is a distinct difference.

In a wider sense it also means taking the character to a playable level. You could never do Superman, Batman, Spider-man, etc... in a normal game, but you could realisticaly do one who has the core elements of the character, usualy at a lower level that would be playable
