This thread is rather mysterious.
Perhaps Dragonia is a place inside all of us and we can only find it when we truly believe in it.

Nothing mysterious. I just needed to mark a thread out for a small solo game with my son when I didn't have a lot of time. I told him I would put the notes up for everyone to read.

The basic outline of the world so far is this:
Dragonia is a diamond shaped kingdom with an uneasy peace with several kingdoms around it. Ruled by King Sam, it is protected by the dragon knights from outer and inner forces that try to disturb the peace. Sanctuaries have been set up to record the memories of the dying and reload them into reincarnated bodies in case of catastrophes.
Steam men rule the lands to the south under King Frank. Mechanized vehicles and artificial men form the core of their fighting force, and arming them with cannon and rifles to do the mad scientist's will.
King Zephyr, not a real king, but a bandit monster controls a mountainous region to the west. He is a mostly air elemental like a living tornado in a sheet. He's fast and deadly with his powers much to the dragon knights' chagrin.
Queen Lamia is a reptilian snake woman who controls light, air, water, and her subjects are lizard men. Her land lies across a channel of water in the east.
The Fifth Kingdom is run by clerics and monks who act for the greater good. An abbot is elected as the policy decider for the clergy under his guidance. There is a shrine in every town with a monk charged with protecting the people.
Ungi, Kraken, Hugo, and Gaia are the four elemental giants that stand at the horizon of the world.
A secret empire of undead has been rumored but no one has ever found real evidence of such a thing. Individual zombies and vampires have been dealt with without a connection to a greater cause.
Enter Sir Donald, the newest dragon knight, to the throne room of King Sam. The king ordered the knight south to investigate steam men building up on the southern border. Sir Donald stocks up on supplies, records his memories at a sanctuary, and heads south along the public roads.
After several days, he arrives in Cornelia which is three days away from the Steam Kingdom. Mayor Puffin asks the knight to investigate a strange zombie trying to ruin the crops that help supply the region.
Sir Donald agrees to handle the problem since no other knights are nearby. Preliminary investigation leads him to believe that he isn't dealing with a zombie. He decides to ambush whatever it is and take it down.
Donald hid it in a ditch, waited for night fall, and shot the monster in the head with a blast arrow. Then he shot it again, as he rushed over with his sword. He knocked the head off with his claymore. He found the monster was a steam man disguised as a zombie.
Donald sent a messenger bird dragon back to the king, repaired his armor, and rested up for the next leg of his journey. Stories of towns being burned down reached his ears. He decided to warn the next town he thought would be attacked and rode his dragon up in the clouds to keep an eye on things.
He spotted a cloud moving against the wind, and attacked. He discovered that it was a flying machine the equal of his runt dragon. He decided to land on the back of the ship and attack the engines at the rear of the steam plane. Doors popped open to allow steam men to attack. The mechanical men forced the knight and his dragon off the plane, wounding the animal severely enough it couldn't fly.
Donald pulled chicken legs from his saddle bag and fed Flames the runt dragon enough so he could fly again. Then they attacked the engines again, finally knocking them out.
The plane headed down.

Sir Donald let the plane get away using bottom jets to hover off the ground. He noted that it was heading west, but didn't think anything else about it.
Donald headed back to Cornelia to heal his dragon up, get equipment, and send a message to the king by bird dragon. He received word that the Steam Men has reported the loss of some of their mechs and planes. Zephyr's signature was left behind at the scene of the crime.
Donald is ordered to bring in Zephyr the bandit king. He saved at West Town, and then flew into the mountains. He got lost at first, but quickly recovered and flew straight into the Windy Mountain. The guards didn't like that with an aerial battle ensuing. Donald crashed into a canyon wall during the dog fight, after making two of the pursuing spike birds hit the wall.
The third one flew off, convinced that the dragon knight and dragon was dead.
Donald climbed back up the mountain, sneaking past the watchdogs, and the circular formation of nests and caves of monsters. The monsters were dormant at the moment. He didn't see any stolen Steam Men or planes.
Zephyr has the biggest nest in the center of the formation. He woke up at Donald's approach. After a talk, the bandit monster king denied any involvement in any theft. He called up his monster army and reduced Donald and Flames to ash.
Donald woke up at the sanctuary at West Town with no memory of what happened on Windy Mountain. He sent a report in. He restocked his supplies. The king sent back a bird back to tell him to try again. The knight consults with his colleagues. They direct him to some Fifth Kingdom monks in town. The monks agreed to let one of them help out.

Sir Donald didn't feel comfortable with only one monk as an assistant and hired a monster trapper named Coop Cooper to go with them back to Windy Mountain. A demonstration of the trapper's skill does not go well, but Sir Donald asked him to come along anyway. The three get supplies and head for the monster infested mountains.
As the trio make their way through the crevices toward Windy Mountain, they are heard and spotted by Spike Birds. A strafing run and several exchanges of fire by the combatants lead to all of the sentries being knocked out and falling to their dooms. The rest of the monsters were alerted by the combat. They arrived to start blasting at the three adventurers.
The knight and his assistants rushed into a cave. They kept running as the monsters blasted the front wall over the door. Half the mountain seemed to be coming down. The men rushed to the back of the cavern, escaping the landslide.
Sir Donald lit a torch for light, but quickly noticed that a fresh breeze was coming into the cave from somewhere. He followed the wind until he found a crack in the rear wall. He dug through and found a carved hangar with the missing plane in it. The repair marks on the back matched the damage he had done earlier so he knew it was the same plane.
Cooper trapped Flames when Sir Donald went aboard the plane to look around. Steam Men activated, shooting Ichigo the monk. The trapper tied him up also as the mechanical men went aboard the plane. Donald broke out the window and jumped down to the floor. The robot squad shot him in the back, knocking him down long enough to be tied up.
Donald decided to get Cooper to gloat while he worked on the elastic ties with his energy dagger. He learned that Cooper belonged to a group that wanted to cause problems, and planned to keep sending him back to his last sanctuary until he could no longer be regenerated. Cooper planned to attach himself to any party Donald put together until the job was done.
Hopefully by that time, other efforts would lead to war between the bordering nations.
Donald cut himself free, boarding the plane. He is wounded, waiting to try and destroy the steam men with his available abilities.

While Sir Donald waited in the plane to deal with the Steam Men, Ichigo Ishiyama and Flames got free. The monk used his weapon's special attack on Coop Cooper. The agent went down, wounded. Ishiyama stabilized Cooper so they could take him in and question him.
Sir Donald used his gravity axe spell, trying to hit the lead robot. He missed and hit the inner wall of the plane. Instantly that spot was a hundred times heavier than the rest of the plane. The plane rolled. The robots were crushed. The metal fuselage kept rolling, causing Flames and Ishiyama to jump out of the way, but Cooper was crushed flat.
Donald climbed out of the wreckage after it stopped rolling.
The two adventurers realize they were stuck in a cave with a wrecked vehicle, and monsters behind them. After a few moments, Ishiyama found a door leading to the outside. They use that to get out of the secret hangar.
Flames flew, carrying the knight and monk on his back. They realized they are on the other side of the mountain range. An ice dragon attacked from above. After a small battle which included a loop to loop, the trio broke away and found a place to hide and heal up until the white dragon ceased looking for them.
The three took a few minutes to look around the other side of the mountain range. They snuck down into the hills. They spotted the ice dragon moving into the hangar behind and above them as they went.
Ahead the giant of fire stood impossibly tall in the distance.
They found pools of bubbling tar and statues of things at the edge of the hills. A reading on the statues revealed they had been people and animals caught by the tar. Donald was almost caught by an eruption of heat and tar before they turned back and headed for West Town.
The knight filed a report and got his equipment repaired.
A message came in for Donald with orders. He had to report back to Mayor Puffin. Something was wrong with one of the town's sanctuaries. The knight asked the monk to journey southeast with him to find out what was going on.
They arrived at the sanctuary to find a fight had taken place. They asked the examiners to wait outside. After some investigation, Ishiyama told Donald that Coop Cooper had rigged the controls to make zombies. They get a messenger dragon to spread word to check other sanctuaries especially ones where Cooper had been.
A zombie arrived. Donald killed it. The sanctuary reloaded it instantly. Donald killed it again and destroyed the controls before it could be loaded again. The former resident was turned into a misshapen mess at the sanctuary he had saved his memory at before the sabotaged center.
Sir Donald, Flames, and Ishiyama went back to the capitol after receiving an all clear from sanctuary teams across the nation. They were drinking punch at a local café when Donald's attention was attracted by a deadly odor. They decided to head into the sewer and investigate. They found claw marks like that of a bear in the tunnels. That took them to the Dragon Airport the city used as a central flying coordinator.
They decided to investigate the airport, noting the departure of a Steam plane overhead. They found a wooden box in the air terminal among the waiting passengers. A check revealed the box was a bomb counting down. The two warned everyone to get away before trying to create defensive force walls to protect the fleeing people. The bomb went off, but most of the force had been directed away from the intended victims.
Donald caught a whiff of that strange smell as the building burned down. They head back down into the sewers and spotted someone heading toward the center of the city. Trailing the shadowy figure, they realized the mystery man was heading for the dragon knight barracks.
The trio confront the figure. Their quarry identified himself as the Inspector General of the Dragon Knights and had Sir Donald and Flames thrown in jail by the barracks guards with the threat of charges in the morning.
The next day Sir Donald and his dragon were released. There were no charges filed for whatever reason. They were ordered to get out.
They decided to visit the king and talk to him about the bombing. After wrangling with the clerk at the door, and asking for a conference, King Sam ordered Donald to find the steam plane.
Donald went back to the airport. After talking to several experts on the scene, and the lighthouse crew, he gained two clues. Shrapnel in bomb came from crystal shards carved by a kingdom in the north. The steam plane flew north just before the bomb went off.
Donald decided that he needed to go to Opal, the North Men's capitol, and straighten things out.
The Three Avengers flew north, stopping at North Town, the last Dragonia city before having to brave the snowy mountains of the Yeti. They overheard discussions of whole families turning up missing. It seemed like the local Knights had no clue.
Donald offered their services to the locals after a brief altercation. The knight who had disagreed with his junior led them to the latest empty house. Ishiyama used his clairvoyance on the house. He declared violence had been done on the first floor, and the killer resided in a basement somewhere.
They checked a map, and found that all of the disappearances were in a circle. Donald decided they should talk to the people who lived in any house in the center of the circle. Their first suspect seemed an ordinary old man. Donald, Flames, and Ishiyama decided to check out an abandoned sanctuary in sight while the other knight started knocking on house doors on that block.
The adventurers found disturbed graves in the graveyard next to the sanctuary. Flames opened the graves to find decomposing bodies on top of skeletons. A brief examination revealed bite marks on the most recent victims and no blood when the heroes touched the corpses.
Checking the old building, they saw the rebirth vats and controls have been stripped, the pews were gone or broken, but new candles had been put in holders near the door and lit. A footprint in the dust points the way to the supply closet.
Donald chopped into the door, knocking it aside since it was unlocked. That revealed steps leading into the basement. Donald used his flash spell, revealing tombs in the basement. He ordered Flames to set fire to the area. The dragon hit a tomb which caused one of the corpses to stand up.
A brief battle ensued with Ishiyama being knocked out, Donald and Flames both about to be choked out or worse. The knight used his flash again. That caused the vampire to release them and teleport away.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if there were hundreds of Dragonias, Draconias, Dragonlands, etc out there.

You are correct. There's Dragonia the roleplaying game and Legends of Dragonia (another roleplaying game: I think there's third called realms of Dragonia) there's the Dragonia Manga and Dragonia the movie, there's Dragonia the video game and Dragonia the civ II mod and probably a thousand others I haven't heard of.

Sir Donald and his two assistants break out of the burning basement to get to the ground floor of the sanctuary. The vampire had been waiting, and attacked the knight with life drain. Ishiyama and Flames repulsed the monster before he could kill Donald.
Ishiyama used his clairvoyance spell to locate the vampire. Realizing the monster was outside waiting for them to exit so it could attack again, they searched the building for another exit. They smashed through a broken and barred window at the back of the building.
The group separates. Ishiyama went up to trick the vampire into attacking while Sir Donald circled the building to attack from behind. The vampire attacked the monk. The gravity axe spell dropped him to the ground. Ishiyama stabbed the vampire through the heart with his magic sword, reducing him to dust.
The heroes contact the local water dragon handlers to blast the fire out of the abandoned sanctuary before it burns down the neighborhood. The fire could not survive the fire department's five blue lizards.
The group heal up, rest, and send a message to the king before leaving North Town for Opal, the capitol of the Yetis.
The trio trail the steam plane halfway across the country before losing the trail. They decide to fly into Opal. The high altitude produces cold weather for the crystal city. Animals such as the sabertooth and pterodactyl act as vehicles and cargo machines.
Sir Donald headed to the local embassy, a building of white stone, that stuck out from the local glass towers around it. Only one knight and two squires are on duty as a guard, while an ambassador and trade officials act to ship crystals south to Dragonia as jewelry and decorations.
Sir Donald was informed that the city has been under a strange crime wave. Someone has been stealing the giant bells from the clock towers around town. Almost thirty of the big crystal ringers have been taken by the mysterious thief.
Sir Donald and Ishiyama asked to lend a hand to the local authorities while they wait for news of the plane to reach Opal. Arrangements were made, and the two were quickly allowed access to the newest crime scene, a clock tower in the middle of several skyscrapers and many more lesser buildings. The whole tower consisted of the famous crystal the Yetis are famous for making, even the gears made of glass.
Ishiyama used his clairvoyant spell. He learned two things the heroes could use. Coop Cooper was involved in the thefts. The bells could be seen from the tower. He could see the tower from where they rested.
After some careful flying around, Sir Donald and his ally decided at midnight, they would break into a steel and glass monolith that sat among the skyscrapers. They felt that was the best course.
The trio fly to the roof. They discover there were no doors to the inner workings of the place. They decided to break in a window. The windows were steel shutters. Ishiyama cut through with his sword attack. They found the bells had been hooked to a machine when they burst into the large area built out of the skyscraper's upper floors.
The break in alerted Cooper and his squad of robots. Combat ensued with half the squad destroyed, but both Flames and Ishiyama badly hurt. The bells were used in the machine to collapse two nearby buildings in the hope that the Yeti government would give in to future demands. Sir Donald used gravity axe on the machine. It collapsed.
Cooper and his surviving steam men fled the scene of the battle as Yeti police arrived on the back of pterodactyls, using empowered gems as weapons and badges of office.

Sir Don and the yeti police have a brief confrontation before they bring Flames and Ishiyama back from the brink of death. They started after Cooper, who planted a couple of steam man to shoot at anybody trying to follow him down the stairs. The three peace keepers blast through the ambush to pursue the felon.
Sir Donald helped to blast through a second ambush where one of the two Yeti cops was wounded. He went ahead to meet a single steam man robot. After a tense struggle, the robot threw the knight over the stair railing to his death. Donald caught the railing two floors down and avoided being shot as he ran downstairs to the basement.
The dragon rider found a closed door. He peeked through a keyhole. A steam plane sat in a small hangar, powering up to take flight.
Sir Donald tried to sneak into the hangar, but was spotted. With steam man bullets flying by, the knight jumped on the tail of the plane and climbed on the back of the plane. He ran toward the front with the hope of getting inside and using it for cover.
The squad of robots and Cooper try to catch Sir Donald in a deadly circle of fire. He trapped most of the robots with an application of his gravity axe to the roof of the plane when they climbed in the plane to chase after him, before having to jump down. The knight had to apply his axe to the front of the plane to escape. The nose of the plane came off, crushing Cooper again and the free steam robots.
Now the menace was quieted, Sir Donald visited Flames and Ishiyama in the hospital. They were both being released soon.
They filled out their reports, remarking that Cooper had been in charge of the assault on the city with his sonic weapon. This puts Cooper on the most wanted list of criminals in three kingdoms.
Sir Donald was put on leave without pay as the Yeti authorities investigate what happened. He landed a job as a park ranger, and was assigned a tower to watch several passes north of Opal proper.
An emergency flare lit up the sky. As Donald watched, an avalanche of snow and ice fell on the valleys and people making use of the trails. He and Flames rushed to the scene, looking for survivors. They were able to rescue one person as more rangers arrive to sift through the cascade with their gems.
Not many of the visitors survived the excessive weight of the cascade when it hit the bottom of the valleys. Rescue operations are carried out with zeal, but there were very few survivors.
Night fell, and snow started to fall. Donald saw a shape at the window of his tower where the meeting of rangers was taking place. He went to investigate and discovered a giant snow snake. The snake froze Flames and dragged him away in the darkness.
Donald and Ishiyama decided to brave the storm and go after the beast before it could eat his trusted companion. They track it to a cave in the mountains above where the avalanche took place. The two heroes broke Flames free, wounding the monster before retreating. They decided to go back to make sure the monster couldn't bother anyone else. It attacked with its freezing breath, but Sir Donald sent it crashing into the valley below with a hurling of his gravity axe spell.
A few days later, there was a meeting of rangers. Dr. Putt was introduced. He informed the gathering that the behavior of the snow snakes was atypical. Some brain must be behind it. Sir Donald volunteered to check things out for the assembled group.
Flying the ravine road, Sir Donald and Ishiyama found a set of antennae leading to a little shack on a cliff overlooking the road. They also found snow snake trails leading to the shack. Don examined the shack and found metal shutters and a metal door. He tried to break the door down with his gravity axe. It simply shrank into the ground. Then the snow snakes burst out.
Don stopped the first snake with his gravity axe, but the rest blasted at him. The tiny group took flight on Flames's wings. Several exchanges led to Flames being frozen in midair, being freed and Don using a gravity axe to drop one snake on top of the rest. The whole gang fell to the ground. The knight was happy as he flew off.
The first snake attacked from behind. That caused Flames to crash. Ishiyama was knocked out. Sir Donald was frozen while the dragon tried to recover. The snow snake turned on Flames. The dragon attacked the snow snake's face and head, clawing into its skull until it was dead.

Flames freed Sir Donald after defeating the snow snake. They return to the temporary headquarters set up by the yeti rangers. They filed their report on the cabin and the antennae around it.
The Chief Ranger asked Sir Donald to return to the cabin and mark all cabins like that he could find. Sir Donald's party once more took to the air. They found to their horror that snow snakes in the hundreds were flocking to that one cabin, called by some unknown signal.
Donald urged Flames to circle around while he threw one gravity axe, then another, at the cabin. The roof eventually fell down.
Before that happened, the trio were buried in ice by the snow snakes. Luckily, defensive force walls kept a hole open in the mountain of ice so they could move in after chopping themselves free from the ice that had already hit them.
The cabin collapsed inward, smashing whatever equipment was inside. The snow snakes flew off. Don cut his group free. They flew back to headquarters to report what had happened.
Yeti rangers move out in force to wipe the innocent looking shacks out of existence.
Don went back to his base tower to recuperate from the struggle. The dragon knight from the embassy arrived. The yeti police were not happy with what Don and Ishiyama had done at the Sonic Cannon Tower, but he was reinstated in the Dragon Knights, and the king had new orders for him.

Sir Donald was directed to report to Dr. Pucca, renowned lecturer at the Opal University. He learned that an expedition was being mounted and he was to be on board as a security element. The point of the expedition was to sail a ship to the edge of the ocean and try to make contact with the Kraken.
All of the known countries had contributed something to the construction of this ship. Members from their agencies were to be on board. Sir Donald and Ishiyama were to report to the docks in Dragonia where the ferry to the Grasslands made its journey across the channel. The rest of the crew would meet them there.
When the two arrived at the ferry, Dr Pucca and Dennis from the Yeti, Sid from the Steam men, and Lil from the Grasslands were present. Sir Donald recognized that Dennis was one of the Yeti cops that had entered the tower and helped stop the Sonic Cannon.
They got the rest of their supplies from East Port and started across the channel. They would have to go overland when they reached the Grasslands, home of the snake women.
Sea Dragons pulled the ferry out into the channel. The party saw a disturbance in the water. All of a sudden the ferry started to tip over. Ishiyama caught the rail to stop himself. The ferry dropped back into the water.
The group pulled together their resources and made a sail. The sea dragons were helped by the extra wind power, and were quickly back up to speed, and moving faster.
The underwater menace headed upstream. Sir Donald threw a gravity axe at it. The water was made heavier and revealed a giant turtle. Donald threw another axe at it so that it would be drawn down into the brine.
The signal went out to clear the water. The giant turtle was a menace to all ships on the water.
The sails caught fire. The ferry slowed down without the added push from the heated air. Dennis put the fire out with an ice blast.
The group spotted a bow wave headed for the ferry. Dennis used another ice blast. Lil used a confuse animal spell. These two things angered the turtle enough to cause it to charge the ferry. Only it was confused. Instead of hitting the flat boat dead center, it impacted at the rear and pulled the back half of the transport off.
Donald threw a gravity axe. Dennis hit with an ice blast. Sid missed with a rifle bullet. The ferry and the giant turtle were sinking. Dennis covered the ripped part of the hull to buy some more time for the travelers.
The five adventurers checked their options. A scheme was born from their desperation. It was crazy enough to try and see if it worked.
Flames took Sid to shore. He looked around until he found a set of ropes. He gave one end to Flames to take back to the ferry. He rigged a wench at the other end to pull the ferry to shore before there was more trouble.
As the transport is pulled into port, the turtle attacked again. Donald fell overboard. He set out for shore instead of trying to get back onboard the ferry. The turtle snapped him up in its mouth.
Donald saved himself from being swallowed by projecting a defensive block around himself. He made the turtle spit him out. As the giant attacked again, Flames swooped down and grabbed the knight out of danger. Donald flung a gravity axe at the beast to slow it down.
The ferry made it to shore, and everyone quickly disembarked before there was any more trouble.
Dr Pucca hired a carriage for the party, but Donald and Flames flew across the flat, swampy Grasslands. They observed the grass houses and boats for the snake people with tourist eyes. When they reached the dock, they see the ship for the first time. It's a round disc with two projections in the front. A pilot sits in a cockpit in the center of the mandibles.
They sailed the new ship to Trading Post Island. It's a combination rest stop and shopping center for people living on the edges of the Grasslands and out in the wide ocean. Donald found a souvenir shop and got a pendant in the shape of a dragon.
The crew broke up for a night of relaxation before sailing to the east in the morning.
The next day Dr Pucca was angry that three out of five of his crew never made it back. Donald and Ishiyama went to investigate the odd occurrence.
