Standard answer of "If the GM allows it..." aside, would something like this be legal in FREd?

I've got a player whose character is largely in another dimension. The character's physical presence is, for all intent's, a sort of "waldo" that he uses to interact with "the real world."

The, ummm, creative use of Desolid would be an easier way to build such a character than buying all of the abilities/stats as "usable across dimensions..." I'm not so much concerned with point costs... I'm just lazy. ;)

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Would your GM accept a character with Inherent Desolid vulnerable to "Any Power with the Transdimensional Advantage?"

That's technically legal, as far as the rulebook is concerned.

I'm leaning toward a form of Duplication...it will need GM leway unless you require him to build both his orgional and "waldo" form on the points....I'm not sure of cost...would have to work it out and its late....so not tonight :)

You know this sounds awfully like a friend of mine's 4th ed. character, the likes of which cause many GMs to run in fear, but not for Tashi's lack of a brain..:D

More because she was made just to see if he could make it..and boy did it smell of old stale limburger;)
