So, do you currently play San Angelo? Do you plan to play San Angelo? Do you know what I'm even talking about? Please feel free to include comments.

Nope, but if I ever see it on the cheap in a used book store, I'm snatching it up. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Not at present, but it's a great, well-designed setting that I've enjoyed playing in the past (and I'd love to do so again).

It is the quentessential West Coast city in my world. As Hudson city is dark, millenium city is futuristic, and Freedom city is east coast. I loved the setting, it was wonderful.

I am not using SA:COH but I definitely plan to steal...I mean lovingly borrow...some of their ideas. :) It is a very nice product. Gold Rush Games (GRG) plans to upgrade it to FREd soon from what I understand. Mark also just mentioned that they plan to rerelease the SA Chinatown PDF suppliment...updated to FREd of course...at the end of the year. SInce I don't have the OLD Chinatown stuff AND I have a Chinese PC in my new campaign I am really looking forward to getting this product... ;)

If you have questions about SA go to the GRG forums. Mark frequents them and replies just about as fast as Steve and the folks at Hero. Great people. :D

San Angel : City of Heroes , for those of use who enjoyed Kurt Buisek's " Astro City " . This is the book for us . It even inclueds a short commentary from him .

I found it to be one of the best resources for any modern RPG's and Champions in particular . Please keep it alive folks .

When is the 5thEd version coming out . I wasn't aware that it was being Published at all .

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words about GRG and the San Angelo line, folks!

Just FYI, I've just posted a "pre-announcement" message about The Dragon's Gate on the boards. You can read it here (http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6801).

Oh, and just to clarify, The Dragon's Gate is being published in book form, not as a PDF. It's previous (albeit brief) release was in PDF format. This Winter you'll see the physical book, however.

If anyone is interested in checking out the original San Angelo: City of Heroes (http://www.goldrushgames.com/sacoh.html) book, you can buy it now for only $10.00! At 256 pages, that's under 4 cents per page! Woo hoo! A small price to pay for what I think you'll agree is one of the best (if not the best) superhero RPG campaign city sourcebooks!

I just wanted to chime in on what a great book SA:COH was. It's 1 of the top 5 RPG supplements I own, maybe the very best. The only weakness (IMHO) with the 1st edition was in the character write-ups: the characters seemed to have been created by someone with only basic familiarity with the HERO system. Still, there were many good character concepts, and since they all need to be adapted to be used with FREd now, the minor problems with HERO mechanics shouldn't be a concern. Besides, it's the city (not the characters) that makes this book so cool. At 10 bucks, it's a steal.

I have not played in San Angelo, but I've heard so much good about it that I intend to buy it ASAP.
